Is boredom an Emotion?

or just something that occurs in lack of emotion?

 

I think of it as an emotion.
I feel it 50.5% of the time.

i'm not sure. it could be like hot and cold, where cold is POSSIBLY only a lack of heat and is nothing of it's own.

An emotion is baisically a psychological stirring when an event, or lack of eventful occurances, occurs. So, yes. Boredom is an emotion.

 

Physical pain wouldn't be an emotion. Pain in general, as in, someone's hurt you with words, let's say, I would conclude as an emotion.


I had actually been thinking about that. I want to say it is, but it isn't. Boredom can be from a lack of entertainment or from lack of attention. So yes and no. Attention as in, you are ignored by parents or don't have enough exercise for say.​

I believe Boredom to be an emotion, yet, it's either something you feel or don't, emotions are what you feel, so yes, technically, it's an emotion.

 

I have to think on this,i'd say 50-50 it is and it isnt because after a while you may get fustrated from being bored. Well im not to sure, being bored for me is well unexplainable really because you guys here say being bored is lack of emotion.When I lack emotion I don't feel anything at all and that includes boredem.

Mmm...kind of. I really never thought of it that way before. But if it wasn't an emotion, then what would it be? Seeing that I can't think of answer for that question, I'll say that yes, boredom is an emotion.
