Ok, so I don't think this was worth a thread in the Technology section. Anyway, Firefox 28 is hella slow for me, especially using things like YouTube and imgur. The browser tries to chug along, and the computer isn't at all bad. Chrome is lightning fast, and I'm finding myself relying on it more and more now, which is sad because I love the add-ons and features of Firefox. So yeah, how the hell do I fix Firefox? I cleared my cache and whatever multiple times, resulting in the speed issue not being resolved at all.
Spoiler: how to fix firefox delete and install chrome but yeah i have no idea. maybe try reinstalling?
I only use Firefox when I'm coding or testing certain functions so I wouldn't really know. You could always use Chrome for YouTube and Imgur and Firefox for everything else. Try what @skull joke mentioned and reinstall. You might actually have too many add-ons installed which can/will result in slow load time. If nothing else, remove any add-ons you're not using. While the cache may be the problem the majority of the time, sometimes it's not at fault ... sometimes. If nothing mentioned works then I'd recommend making a thread (or having this one moved) in Technology. There you'll be asked for your PC specs, and loads of other stuff. You'll get better feedback and results. If nothing else you could look for alternative add-ons for Chrome so you can switch browsers. -Periwinkle
was going to say this. disable the **** out of all your un-needed addons. if that doesnt work try waterfox or palemoon or something
Surprisingly, just disabling a few add-ons helped tremendously ._. My guess is that it might have been a combination of Greasemonkey, DownThemAll, DownloadHelper, and maybe BetterTTV. Thanks Misty and Karuta for the super obvious yet super helpful advice lol
