(This is a dream I had, and figured I would attempt to write it down and turn it into a horror-type piece of writing. Hope you all like it <3) I stood, looking straight forward at the shadows that engulfed the atmosphere around me. Everything was dark... So dark. It was as if all reminisce of light that was once shed upon my world had been taken away, and consumed by some ever-growing monster born to tear my reality apart. When in deeper thought, realisation took me to a new level of understanding, letting the fact that this wasn’t reality sink into my mind like a deathly poison. It hurt to think that my mind could hurt me like this. That my subconscious thoughts could conjure up such spaces and emotions I didn’t know was possible to witness or feel. I made a vast attempt at sighing, which took me by surprise, as I didn’t feel the need of such an action to take place. My lips parted slightly to take in the cool air surrounding me, which only resulted in my jaw hanging slack from its hinges. Nothing was here. Nothing at all. There was no air to take in, hence the reason I began to increasingly choke and gag on the spot. My lungs began to burn, the flames seemingly growing and spreading throughout all my internal organs. I was craving air, the one thing that was to keep me alive at this moment, and I was deprived of it. A low tremor tore through the ground below me, sending cool rush of supple oxygen running past me. I took my chance and gasped in the cool breeze, the air being like water to cease the fire curling around my innards. Along with the release from burning, was scent. Said scent forced a stinging sensation to attack my eyes and nasal passages. Such a horrible smell to meet me, in a space to lifeless and impure; it was sending a pulsing sensation through the air around me, like that of a heart pumping with adrenaline. The smell of the deceased. I looked down, acknowledging the fact that colossal cracks split the ground around me. Inhabiting the cracks were arms of some sort, creeping towards me with skin tinted like that of a dusty piece of charcoal. Small cuts seared in the skin of the limbs approaching me, leaving a black substance running down the forearms of the savage monstrosities. Upon further inspection, I was surrounded by these irritating claws, of which were now beginning to slither towards my ankles with some speed. I attempted to move, but only to fail in the fact that my feet were numb completely. Soon my ankles were gripped by rough, rugged nails, with the first layer of my skin being torn away completely to leave a stinging sensation curse through the joints of my legs. I screamed; it was so painful to an extent where I felt physically sick. I could feel the bile surfacing to my throat gradually the more pain was pressed to my blood-caked legs. My scream echoed, sending a crack through a glass-like substance infront of me. I must have mistaken this glass for the darkness on my previous assessment of my surroundings. As the glass split, the shards splintered outwards, dicing the limbs that were clawing at my legs to mere cubes of gooey, grey flesh. I staggered forward, swallowing back a whimper as a warm tear trickled down my cheek. I was completely alone now, with only me and my conscience to go over the happenings which had just occurred. A low chuckle from behind drew my attention. I slowly turned and glanced over my left shoulder, only for my eyes to be greeted by something beyond explanatory. Such a gruesome figure stood, staring with small beady eyes. Just below its eyes, under the rotting flesh mounted upon brittle cheekbones, was its mouth. The lips lining the entrance to said mouth were slim, black and had multiple tiny slices in them. The incisions oozed blood with every deep, panting breath the creature took. "Take me." I whispered, my voice cracked and weak from the experience I had just endured. "I just don't care anymore."
