    my body is a prison.
My lazy conscience is an evil guard telling me,with words of a viper, to feed him.
Self-discipline is an anti venom, keeping this venom from sinking in, but the media is a communist government, telling me that diets don't work: should I trust them or not?
I need to escape this prison, or I will get the inner death sentence of mocking and loathing.
    I must be determined.
    God help me.
    Amen

I'm gonna start dieting for these stated reasons

Basically If you want to be healthier then go ahead, but don't lose weight because of outside opinions.

    And no unhealthy methods either.

well, if you want to lose weight that's fine. but dont' result to anything like starving yourself or throwing up. i've had this problem too, here's what i did.

make sure that there isn't anything causing you unneeded stress in your life. this will sound stupid but if you're less stressed off, your body won't store as much fat.

NO FRENCH FRIES, NO FRIED CHICKEN. those are probably some of the worst foods to eat when trying to lose weight.

if you have to treat yourself to something fatty, choose a burger instead of a milkshake. i read somewhere that foods with a lot of sugar will make you hungry while meat makes you seem more full.

try NOT to quit eating fatty foods, COLD TURKEY. that means, not eating it altogether. it will NOT work, most of the time, people who try this get frustrated and then just go back to their old ways. instead, find SUBSTITUTES for the fat foods you like. for example, get rid of regular soda, and replace it with diet soda, it tastes a little different but if you get used to it, it will help reduce your calorie intake since diet soda has ZERO calories :)
remember, it's still OK to eat fatty foods, just not everyday.

and i found that this part is a must: portion control. you don't have to do this all in one night but DO reduce the size of your meal portions. do it slowly, you'll just end up hungry if you try to do it all at once. if you eat 2 servings, try cutting down to 1.75 or 1.5, but don't try going to 1 serving immediately. do it SLOWLY.

for excercising, get some excercise in your routine if you haven't already. yes, i dont' like it either but you have to be more active if you want to keep the weight off. but i found it's less painful if you're having fun with friends while doing this. you can play tennis, or soccer with your friends. it doesn't have to be a daily thing, but do it at least 2 or 3 times a week.

that's all i have for now, i'll reply again if i remember something i didn't post. hope that helps :)

Yeah, if you really feel that way, then diet smartly and dont binge eat and throw up..that's a no-no, and people are still the same when they are fat or skinny, it only matters how is there personality, not what they look

Good luck with losing weight, but make sure you do it for yourself and not for everyone else. It might seem hard, but if you keep at it and stay determined, you can do it. Also, make sure you have support. It'll be a lot easier if your family support you through this.

I'm more into fat people than skinny people if I REALLY had to choose. Haha. But loosing weight is good for health reasons.

I hope my boyfriend never loses his near 400 lbs. If he tried to diet I will stick a IV in him and pump him with grease and chocolates and fatty foods. Rawr.

If you're gonna diet you need to stay active or otherwise it will fail.

Okay, all the people who are saying sh*t like other people's opinions don't matter and make sure you're not doing it for yourself, news flash: Either way, if he wants to lose weight, if it's because he wants to be thinner, then that's a good thing, if it's because people make fun of him, that's a good thing too, as long as it's striving him to lose weight, it's a good thing, don't tell him he shouldn't lose weight just because other people make fun of him for his weight, that's bad support. I was fat, I know how it feels, people made fun of me, but now I'm on medicine that helps me concentrate, but extremely lowers my diet, so I guess I took the cheap way, by accident. Eat yogurt, I'm not kidding. Yogurt has a lot of protein, and some fat, it's perfect. But you still need to eat foods that contain meat. STAY THE F*CK AWAY FROM FAST FOOD RESTURANTS! The only thing you should ever do at McDonalds is get a salad or a snack wrap, go to sub way, taste better and is better for you. Wear clothes that fit. I've found wearing clothes that aren't huge on me is more attractive, and that's another reason why guys don't want to be fat anymore, to get girls, you guys can bash me all you want, but that's one of the reasons, and people making fun of you...Anyway, wear black clothes, they make you look slimmer and don't look totally stupid. Start running, it's fun and it's easier to do than push ups :\

I don't know about the salads from McDonalds, they do contain as much fat as the burgers. You're better off with Submart(Subway)

If you want to lose weight, I'd suggest doing it for your own self, and not because of the opinions of others. It will help you with self-esteem because you truly can mold your body quite a bit to what you want it to look like and well, others will take notice as well so in the end, if you do it for yourself, you make yourself to what you want and win with others too automatically.

I'd suggest not following fad diets. The clearest best way, though it takes more work, to lose weight is to exercise and to eat the right foods. Also, getting proper sleep is critical. Some things to do:

    - Try doing an alternation technique with workouts. Do some cardiovascular exercises such as running, jumping jacks, jump rope, etc that get your heart moving. These you should do 3 times a week, such as on Mon, Wed, Fri. On Tues, Thurs, try doing some lifting of weights, push ups, sit ups or crunchies, and that sort of thing so you build up muscle tone. Saturday and Sundays, take those as rest days so that your muscles recover. You can of course alter this to fit your needs, such as if you feel your weekends are easier for workouts, take off Mondays and Tuesdays or something. A 5 day a week work out plan will be good and those two days of recovery assist in allowing the muscles to heal.

    - At first do workouts for 15-20 minutes each day. Then try upping it to 30 mins, etc going up maybe 5 to 10 minutes more each day until you are comfortable but feel a strain so that you know you had a decent work out. You want to sweat some so you get some progress. Don't do exercises if you are really sore. Try doing some stretching instead that day and walking if you can so that you are moving but not over-straining yourself.

    - Sleep around 8 hours a day if you can. This helps the body recover. After a workout, take a shower or bath to help the muscles relax and also it helps keep your skin clear so that you don't get crummy breakouts of zits.

    - Try joining some sport if you can, but that may take a while based on your weight and how comfortable you feel about it. Make sure in school to participate in gym class!!! Don't take the easy way out and be on the sidelines. Participate in what is going on because the gym classes can help you. Don't listen to others who say it's 'uncool'. If there's nowhere else to do a good workout, it's at gym. Give it your all and ignore others who might make fun of you. Some people are just jerks and this is about you; not them.

    - Now for diet. Try to avoid fast food joints. If you do go to any, try to choose from the menus getting healthier things. Avoid fries or potato products. Avoid milkshakes and fried foods if you can. If you have to eat fast food from some place like BK, get a salad and/or a burger.

    - Eat in moderation. When you get food in front of you, eat like half of it and wait for 10 minutes, drinking some water between. If you still feel hungry after 10 minutes, eat a bit more. Eat until you feel 'content', not until you feel stuffed. If you are stuffed, you ate too much.

    - Try eating vegetables, fruits and meats more. Avoid frying and if you do need to have fried food, try to not eat too much grease. Eat less bread, potatoes, corn, starchy sorts of foods. Don't avoid them but try to consume them less than the fruits, veggies and meats. You might also want to try adding some spices to your foods other than salt. Salt retains water weight so use it somewhat less. Try some other things and you may find that the spices add some flavor but also some spices can help you lose weight a bit more. When eating vegetables, try to eat the darker greener vegetables if you can such as broccoli, green beans, darker leaf salad such as romaine.

    - Try some oolong or green tea now and then. They are antioxidents and help clear your system some. Also, drink water. You may have to now and then add some lemon juice or something to it to make it not so bland. Try to do that instead of drinking something ala cool aid. You may want to also take juice drinks and add some water to them to reduce how much sugar you are intaking but you can still enjoy the actual drink. If that sounds weird to you, consider that in fast food places, they add more water to the soda than you would get from a bottle of soda at your house. You'll be able to find a happy medium that will taste decent to you but also be less sugary than normal. Make sure to drink plenty of liquids, esp water as you work out. It really does make a difference and you don't want to dehydrate yourself.

As Dredica suggested, some things you can do for yourself as you are changing things is to wear darker clothing. Also, don't wear clothing that has stripes going sideways on them because that also makes you look plumper. Avoid white if you can and too light of colors but well, don't just wear black either. I like black but well, it may not be to your liking. Make sure you get a good pair of shoes that are not just 'cool looking' but actually are made for work outs and such. Shoes can be rather important for comfort. Try not to wear clothes that are too big or too small for you. Get the size of clothes that you actually should wear. Too baggy of clothes doesn't hide fat just as much as too small of clothes doesn't.

Hope this helps and if you have any questions, feel free to ask away. Good luck to you.

Losing weight can be harder for some people more then others. Some people have fast metabolisms so they don't have to try. Some people have slow metabolisms which means you really have to try to lose weight. Here's some stuff I've learned in P.E. this year.

    BUILD MUSCLE!!!!
muscle burns calories waaay more than fat

DO NOT EAT MCDONALDS. The best way to stay away from fast food is to learn what's in it and see the ingredients and then you'll be like,"I WAS EATING THAT!?". Also Fried foods are not good for your heart. Instead of fried chicken have baked chicken, instead of french fries have carrots shaped like french fries.

    CELERY! CELERY! CELERY!
definitely eat celery. It has negative calories. So you burn calories while it's digesting.

RUN RUN RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN...!
Run half a mile a day. It's not actually that far. Go around an area of where you live to see how far a mile is and run the half way point. Then build up your speed and go all the way to the full mile. GRADUALLY!!!

TAI BO IS THE WAY TO GO!
Tai bo gets all of your muscles working. More than any sport I've ever played. I did it for 30 minutes in P.E. for 2 days for 2 weeks and I lost a lot because I gained muscle.

    DO NOT TRY DIET PILLS.
Although you may lose a lot of weight, it kills you system. They aren't good for you at all.

The only safe way to lose weight is the hard way. Many people want to lose weight so fast that they don't care what happeneds to them. Bolemia and Anorexia are things you do not want. Stay off of packaged foods. They are full of preservatives that turn into sugar and are stored as sugar on your body.

    Good luck ^_^

Dieting won't help you as much. What you need to do is go on a 1 mile bike ride everyday and do 100 well done crunches. I used this method an by the end of the year, I had lost two pounds. I know...that doesn't sound right, but muscle weighs greater than fat, and I had alot of muscle when I was done. Also, find a sport you enjoy and stick to it. I play tennis every other day, so that gets my cardio up.Keep doing that for the rest of your life and I will guarantee you a better life.

    this is completely right.

on a side note, there are certain things that could keep your metabolysm stuck, I suggest you stay active.

eat your 3 daily meals and 3 snacks in between(no junk food, and not something excesive) this will keep your metabolysm going.

and you should try doing a lot of cardio excersises, a good walking routine to begin with is good, and then jogging and so forth, this not only will make you lose weight but it'll be better for you emotionally also.

If you're a teen you'll burn more, and at least weekly 3-5 pounds(i'm not kidding)

remember water, lower portions of food(but change slowly)a huge change will not work, start changing habits little by little.

most importantly, you can try diet pills, but only those which are naturally made.

Well, for one , it's not as easy as you portray it.

Unfortunately this crazy world is driven looks.

And of course most of the time, not having excess fat makes you healthier?

hope that clears your questioning ignorance.
