I missed the premier yesterday, but the encore today just finished.

The end of it made me tear up -- yes, teary. Go ahead and make fun.

One thing I don't quite understand, though, is the ending. It's the final episode of the series, but the way the lines are said, it makes it sound like it's just going on a hiatus or something and coming back later.

"The Internet will be here when you get back from Italy." - Sam
iCarly is going on a break, so it's not going to be forever. - Carly, during the last webcast (Not an exact quote. Can't remember it.)

    iCarly ending?

    ****ing finally.

Drake & Josh was and will always be my favorite children's sitcom or whatever that show is.

If you know people are going to make fun of you, why do you post about these things?

How long was iCarly on the air? It's always so weird seeing shows like that go, even if I didn't watch them.

    The worst part about shows ending is that you end up feeling old if you've been consistently watching it ; ~ ;

WARNING: CONTAINS CRITICAL OPINIPONS ON A SHOW THAT PROBABLY WASN'T MEANT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY ANYWAY

As both a critic and a creative writer, I can say that it is great news to know that a show like this is not going to be renewed. I had seen a few of the early episodes of the show, and I just found it not funny. I was at the stage where my tastes were maturing and I just didn't care for the dead pan humor. That's what I feel with many of the Nick TV shows; they have a laugh track so they tell the audience where to laugh or else there would be no laughter in the show at all. And I have younger siblings, so I have to listen into the shows from time to time when I'm around the living room.

Much of the humor derived from these shows is the idea of "random". I'll give you an example that'll probably work for Nick. A group of teens sitting in the kitchen, talking about a movie that came out. Then suddenly, someone shouts "Lets have a meatball fight!". It came out of nowhere, a completely random act. The fake audience is going wild. I'm not against random humor, but I am against lazy writing. The majority of jokes in these shows is just random humor. This tells me that the writers cannot come up with a joke fitting the situation. This is not creativity. This is poor and lazy writing. And yet kids love this, they eat it up. They are being talked down to, as if they were infants, and they accept this.

And from what you say, it sounds like it got cancelled. Nick is not one to create shows with a planned finale and their "plots" are just open enough for them to blindly run with it for years (see Drake and Josh). Nick is one to hold onto something for years, beat it until it's dead and unfunny, and then continue beating it (again, see Drake and Josh). What is the reason for cancellation, loss of interest, ratings, contacts? I don't know. But I'm glad that at least this pimple on the ass cheek of what is the current state of "popular entertainment" is finally popped.

Two phrases: "YES!" and "I still like the two iPsycho episodes, espicially the 2nd one!"
At least my 6-year-old brother won't be screaming at me about how much he likes iCarly anymore....

Yeah. I haven't been consistently watching it, but I watched it back when it started in 2007, dang blows my mind. I feel old and I'm not even old.

Agreed. I never liked Miranda Cosgrove, even in School of Rock she was the worst character.

I guess I'm just awesome, because I like her!

Never saw School of Rock, though.

And they never showed Socko. To tell the truth, that was the worst part of it. Carly moving to Italy was a really crappy way to end the show. It made it seem way too forced. Except for that, it was basically a normal episode spread out over one hour.
iCarly was alright. It certainly wasn't better than Drake and Josh, but it's still a decent show that deserves to be loved just like any other member of the Schneiderverse. I only wish there had been an iCarly/Drake and Josh crossover. I have a feeling that Spencer and Crazy Steve meeting would be every single kind of awesome.

I didn't mind her in School of Rock, though I agree that she was the worst character.
I somewhat liked her in Drake and Josh because she was playing a character you weren't supposed to like, so in that sense she did a good job.

I quite enjoyed watching it back in the day. I began to like Victorious before I moved on with what I watched in the mornings (Pokemon now Helll yeah!). Well, I hope the ending was good.

Is this the end for good or will they return later?
