    I am ****ing livid.

I have to mail a package today, however since it's Saturday the post office closes at 12. I'm not able to drive on my own yet, so I would need someone to take me. So I told my dad yesterday and the day before that I would need to mail something today, and this morning he goes off and runs errands, without telling me and without taking the package with him, and he is still not back.

Of course he didn't take his phone with him, I know this because after trying to call him and my mom for an hour, I go downstairs to see if he left his phone at home like he always does, and sure enough he did. So I have to track down the person he is with, get their phone number, and call them just so I can talk to someone who is either too lazy or too stupid take their own phone with them, and the first thing he says when I call is "You need to go to the post office?"

    o.

    my.

    god.

    I almost lost it.

This probably doesn't seem like a big deal, but this sort of thing happens all. the. time. and like I said, if I ever want to get anything done, not just mailing things, either me or my mom have to do it because certain people (my sister included) are just not capable of even the simplest tasks, or capable of thinking logically enough to know that something like taking the package that needs to be mailed with you instead of going out without it and then getting home with who knows how much time till the post office closes makes more sense.

All I have to say is that right now it's 11:07 and the post office, which is on the opposite side of town closes at 12:00, and if this package doesn't get mailed today I will freak. out.

I know the feeling. My dad doesn't take his phone with him either. And I was in a similar situation a couple of days ago involving my mum's Christmas gift. It needed to be picked up from a shop before the owner went on holiday for Christmas and I couldn't go get it because I had to be home for deliveries so I asked my dad to pick it up after work. I told him three times before he left to take his phone so I could remind him after work. And you can guess what happened next. And guess what he forgot to pick up the gift now my mum won't get her gift of me until after new year thanks a lot dad! But hopefully your dad comes through where mine didn't. And to make matters worse my dad has a round beer belly with long white hair and a long white beard and he likes to wear a red jacket!. That is right my dad is SANTA and he forgot to get a gift damn it!

Can't you . . . just like wait . . . and why did it have to be mailed today? Why not yesterday . . . or the day before . . . I'm not seeing a problem other than your dad had important stuff to take care of . . . and I don't think that's a problem.

Post office is closed on Sunday, and my parents don't get home till 7 and the post office closes at 5. The only way it could be done on the weekdays would be if one of them took it to work with them and mailed it at some point during the day, however the person who this is being sent to did not pay till friday night, so that wasn't an option.

He wasn't doing important things, he was doing something that could have been done at any time.

What's so important the package has to be delivered today?

    I just said.

Because Sunday is not an option, and weekdays are too complicated, meaning that Saturday is the only viable option.
Also because the person bought this, and I'm not going to make them wait longer than they have to.
Unless you fully understand the situation and circumstances that make this so frustrating, stop asking questions.

either way that's not the point, the point was that I needed something mailed today, he new it, and regardless went out on errands without taking the package with him, theres no reason he couldn't have taken it and mailed it while he was already out. This sort of thing happens all the time

Nights shut up. Don't you realize what happened? His dad knew the package needed to be taken today but still didn't take it when he left to do stuff that could have waited. And tell me what do Parents say or do when you fail to do something that needed to be done? They punish you of course. But when they fail to do something that you needed to be done they let you down and get off Scott free. It drives me nuts and I am sure Below feels the same way. When we let them down we suffer but when they let us down nothing. And that just isn't ****ing fair! They don't give a **** about what we need doing and they always let us down no matter how many times we ask them or remind them it needs doing. They always ****ing forget or don't do it. So nothing we want done will get done unless we do it our ****ing selves because the parents are ****ing failures at doing stuff the kids want doing. I best stop now or I'll be going on like this all night so to wrap things up parents can't be counted on to do nothing!.

Save for raise you, take care of you as an infant, and get you on your way to your own life, sure . . . they can't be counted on for anything.

So you're saying that you couldn't count on your parents? Sure, parents don't help me deliver a package that i'm liable for, that makes them the unreliable ones . . . sounds legit.

My mum lost us the house we lived in for 16 years of my life. My dad spends all his money on beer and no matter what I ask them to do for me they never do. I have a long dark story in which both my parents, my nana, my sister and my brothers all failed me so many times. I can't count on them for anything because they have constantly failed me at almost every aspect of my life that actually matters.

That would be a good reason for your statement, however something as small as a package not being delivered isn't. I also have an alcoholic mother, she used to spend her days at the bar when I was a child. I'd lay awake at night waiting for her to come home. My youngest brother is a good for nothing. I didn't even know my real father until I was eleven years old. Turned out he was a deadbeat. Most of my family from either side have or have had problems with alcohol. The only ones I could rely on were my Grandmother and Grandfather. When I was a child, they were the only ones I could stay with without having to worry about drunks and such.

It's just when I see someone getting mad at their parents over something so small like this, it really ticks me off. You should be glad you even know your parents, and get to see them. As a child I didn't get to see much of either.

We all have our stories and some cope better than others. I have many reasons to hate yet I don't but the anger is still there so I need to let it out every once in a while. I just chose to do that in this subject for now.
