Looks like the time I leave for California is all set. My mom apparently got called to have met sent over there on June 22nd because the camp has a huge group coming in the day after. So she gave me a flight at 6AM, which is harsh enough for me, and I'll be having a layover in Houston, and finally getting to San Jose around 11AM......I think sleep deprivation is the way to kill me. And they expect me to work right as I get there? Oh boy, could you guys give something that lets me sleep a year's worth in about 6 hours? Honestly, this is making me somewhat nervous. I've never done things on my own like this before, especially going through airports and taking flights by myself. And because of my habit of taking a while to actually do something when I'm not sure what to do, it's not going to be a good combination
welcome to a typical college sleeping schedule But I hear you on the nervousness thing, I'm flying without my parents for the first time this summer down to Florida and even though Fayt'll be with me I haven't been to Florida in years and navigating airports is hard. Try and sleep on the plane, I suppose?
Oh I wish I could sleep on a plane. I've tried every time I go on one, but they're just so uncomfortable that it's physically impossible for me to sleep on them, even if I'm tired. It happened once when we were going back to colorado after visiting Outer Banks. And my college sleeping schedule was much more tame than this. I mean, I was waking around 6:30 or so, but at least I was getting home around 2PM...give or take an hour for fooling around at the library and bus schedules. It's a faith camp....in a sense. I mean, it's for faith and all, but they have a bunch of different type of people come in for different things. For those that stay a long time, like I will, it will partially be for faith and stuff, but I'm looking forward to the work experience. Here's the main website if you want to know a little more
Why don't you try sleeping earlier the day before your flight? And when you're at the airport, don't be afraid to ask for help. It's a little scary to ask somebody you don't know for help but trust me, a majority of the people there aren't going to screw you over. Especially the employees who should be able to guide you to where you need to go. And if you want to stay awake during the day, strong black coffee is your best friend.
1) Eww on the coffee, especially black coffee. All I need is a Dr. Pepper and I'm good. No energy drinks or coffee for me. 2) I would go to sleep earlier, but if I go to sleep too early, even around 5PM or so, there's no way I'd sleep enough. If I go to sleep too early, I end up waking up in the middle of the night not being able to go back to sleep.
Awww that sounds really rough for you. I'm sorry to hear. :( At least it'll be worth it once you're all rested up. Do you think the camp staff will let you rest before you do any work? I hope they would be understanding if you explain your lack of sleep situation.
well, I'll be starting the day after I get there, so hopefully when I get there I can rest up....at least a little.....someone come visit me while I'm there please
