Well, this definitely doesn't suck. The picture you've used is high quality which always adds to the aestetic and you have quite a nice contrast between the purples and greens in the background. You've chosen good contrasts with the lightest part (being the left side of her face) being the focus. The way you have a darkened edges that blend into the picture works nicely as well. Is this the work of gradient maps and photo filters/colour balance etc? You have done very well so do be proud. I think you could enhance it by playing around with some other effects like textures but I personally think it works nicely.
