How do people who get banned by having more then one account get caught?

I mean, except for the obvious - "They aren't on at the same time." "They're both from -insert country here-"

EDIT: And no, its not so I can't get caught if I decide to make more then 1 account.

Well the I.P. Address is usually the nail in the coffin. Attacked newbies usually make alts in order to have 'people' to back up whatever they say. So a hated person suddenly gaining unconditional support from a recently joined member is usually a sign, which causes the mods/admins to check the I.P. Address. Each computer has one when they connect to the internet, and it's what identifies you online. So naturally, any two accounts managed from the same computer will have the same I.P. Address. I.P. Addresses can be spoofed by using proxies, but that's somewhat slow and tedious.

 

Ahh... Now I get it. I just thought all the mods and staff were super smart at working these things out.

 

Like P said, IP adresses.
Sometimes, ALT accounts behave alot like their previous account, giving a sign.
Another sign is begging not to get banned because of an accusation. It's actually quite common among alts.

 

Or using a similar username xD

 

I've seen a lot of people with the same E-Mail xD
