I need some serious help!

Could someone please please please help me with Sony Vegas Pro 9?

I have a project for uni and that thing drives me insane since i run out of time!
Anyway so the thing is that i'm trying to make a title and i want to use the 'fly in" effect from the collections preset toolbar but i can't change the word! I add it on the time line but that title "The brown fox" won't go away! And the freaking help thingy doesn't say a thing!

I will be eternally grateful if someone can help me! Please i'm getting desperate!
