Well there goes half of my list . . . I got one, well I have quite of few, for ya. Toradora!. It's not scifi/fantasy. It's a romance comedy. You can watch it here

If that doesn't do it for ya, I recommend you go here and look up some recommendations.

I'd still recommend watching Sora no Otoshimono after.
    especially if you like boobies.

It's just fanservice . . . I mean the second episode . . . come on . . . it was not worth the time it took me to find it on youtube . . .

How should I go about watching it then? Hmm? Perhaps strapped in a chair with my eyes taped open? Normally I just avert my attention to the television/computer screen . . . I can't think of another way to watch something.

Shuffle! is good on drama, but has a little bit of a fantasy element to it. It's not very plot relevant, though. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is the same way. There is an alien, a time traveler, and an esper and they do use their abilities in plot relevant ways, but it's usually more to with winning a baseball game or some such nonsense than saving the world.

Oh, and Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni is a cute little show with a decent amount of drama in it.

Shuffle! was alright-ish . . . like you said the plot was . . . meh. Haruhi Suzumiy, you got to be careful about where you watch it. If you watch it in the order it aired, it's not chronological on the story line. You'd have to figure out which order you'd like to watch it in. I liked the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, it was quite the movie. Don't recommend watching it till after the series. As for Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (When they cry) I lost interest when there wasn't anything really amusing happening after so long. The plot just didn't catch my eye I suppose.

Actually, I meant that the supernatural stuff wasn't very plot relevant. I actually liked it both for the plot and for Primula.

As for Haruhi, the airdate order is best if you want the full effect of it. A lot of it follows the events of the first book, but most of the episodes take place during the other books too. Since many of them are independent stories that just happen to be canon, they have enough exposition to get the reader up to speed. I don't remember if it was the same in the anime, though. The movie is based on the fourth book, and the anime covers the first three books, some of the fifth and sixth, and one story exclusive to the show, so it's best to watch the whole show or at least the "main" episodes titled "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Part x" before the movie. Best case scenario, read the books. They're slightly more amazing than the anime.

And Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni actually means, "When the Cicadas Cry." Higurashi means "cicadas," you see.

I didn't care for most of the plot. I liked Primula, I just didn't care for the Harem thing. It made me feel a sort of helplessness. Like how do you choose . . . But I called the ending, when he saves the girl . . . called it when he bought the soda . . . I was like da*n!

As for the other thing, I didn't know that. I've only ever seen it as "Higurashi When They Cry" . . . Hmm, good fact to know, thanks ^_^
