I think that's going to be a major problem with the next generation of gaming. Way too much uncanny valley.

 

Imagine Sora with a realistic face. It would be terrifying.

 

I agree, in fact I think it's already a bit of a problem. I mean I appreciate them trying to make things look super realistic, but I don't think the style fits every game, or that they should sacrifice unique art direction for it.

 

I think his hair would be a bigger concern.

 

I think Cloud in Advent Children has shorter hair then when he did when he first appeared.

 

He did, and it was restyled slightly to show both that he'd changed a little, and that time had progressed.
But the point was that when it comes to changing animation styles, quite often there are ways to make things work. I for one am looking forward to this game, and I don't really have any fear of it falling into the uncanny valley at all.

 

It looks like a decent game, though I until I play it I will be cautious.

 

Which game are we talking about? 3D?

 

It doesn't look that special to me. Sure, the visuals are good, but the gameplay seems to be your standard, run of the mill third person shooter.

 

The fact that he's a bounty hunter means that it will be much more than that. They probably just don't want to show everything right away, and the gameplay you saw is from the beginning of the game.
