I restarted because I wanted to play the story again, and I learned the hard way that it resets your friends list. Now I need to find all the threads that were made months ago so I can re-input all the friend codes that I had

Wait, what? Can't you restart the game without resetting your 3DS?

If you can, it's not the normal way. Unless there's another way than up +x+b. That's the only way I found to reset the game

I'm confused. I reset my game a while ago and didn't lose anyone on my friends list. The only thing I lost was the data in the friend safari. I thought it was up select b or something.

It might have changed with the latest patch.

I just tried it, and the up + select +b actually doesn't work, only the up+x+b

I doubt it. People restart Pokemon all the time. It would be insanely idiotic to force you to format your system. What would that mean for those of us who have the ambassador games and such on it? Or say downloaded games. I think you may just needed to look more into it. User error.

That's not true, since these games and systems are different than the lady generations. Plus, the patches affect the while game itself, and the game is connected to your systems friend code, so it is possible for the list to disappear if you do something to one or the other. There's no user error this time. Games don't stay the same over the years, so something can be different this time around. And considering it happened to me, as well as a friend of mine, It's not a user error, no matter what.
