No Thanks I know this is a selfish idea...but im gonna try anyway...

Is there anyway we can "Free" up certain names that non-active members have taken...

I'm talking along the lines of members who join with a characters name (we will use Lightning as an example) and then never post again for years.

Now i know this sounds bad...but for active members who get into phases where they really REALLY wanna be named after one of their favorite characters but cant because people join and then never return.

its just frustrating.

is there anything that can be done?

can a rule be created that if you have zero posts and havent been on since 2007 that you have no rights (lol)

(and im totally serious...i wanna be named Lightning or even Noctis hard f-ing core)

 

This has been suggested a lot in the past, and I really don't think it's going to change.
And honestly, there's a lot of easy tricks to get around it, like using Greek, Cyrilic, and other symbols in place of letters.
So for example, you could make "Lightning" into "ɭightning", "Lıghtning", etc.

 

i know, i just had to ask. It just makes me a little mad when people use character names...and dont post. i wouldnt care if you or some other member..but they technically ruin it for everyone else. :/ but i understand.

 

Yeah it doesn't sound to me like it would be possible. And using foreign characters is pretty sweet I'd say. If I saw it fit with a name I would do it.

 

Not going to happen.

1. There are a lot of members who register and don't become active til even years later.
2. We don't have time to decide delete/name change a ton of members.
3. There are many ways around it (ask Toshi if you don't know how)
4. This has been suggested before.
