i just don't get the fascination...

Will someone please explain to me what the fascination is with designing anime characters to be morbidly obese?? People take regular characters and just make them monstrous. Is it a fetish or something?? Do they like mostly naked fat anime characters, or is it supposed to be a joke??

Right? It's gross. I just don't get it. A lot of the ones i see are like my favorite characters too. It ruins my image of them. Being obese isn't a good thing, so unless they are getting off on it like some obese hentai, then it makes no sense. What is the point?

 

You'll find a lot of weird and disturbing images out there, it's the internet. As for the "chubby" images yeah, it's quite common to find those. Some people do it to make the "perfect" looking characters look funny. But honestly most of them are made because it is a fetish for a lot of people. Not my cup of tea though.

Yes, actually, it is a fetish. I don't know everything about it or even what its called, but it doesn't take much deducing to figure it out.

And so what if people like it? You're not forced to look it up. I'll admit I hate seeing pony versions of my favorite characters, but I refrain from making it seem like it's a legitimate issue.

It could also be that they're trying to make the characters more relatable to those of us who are obese. It may not appeal to all of us, but a sizable amount of people (especilly in the US and some European countries)are considered overweight, and the entertainment industry certainly doesn't mirror this image.

 

Pretty sure that things like this are done because of a person's fetish. There's nothing wrong with it, really, it's the same as most fetishes. Not exactly what I'd go with in the least, but whatever gets your tail wagging, I guess.

i apologize if i've offended anyone. i'm not trying to bash on anyone that is actually into that sort of thing or on anyone that is overweight, i just didn't get what was so appealing about it. i know people get off on all sorts of stuff, they even did an episode of bones where it was about this club that was for skinny people that had fetishes with overweight people gorging themselves with food. i'm not trying to hate on anyone that is overweight or anything like that. i just mean obesity isn't something to be glorified. it's a serious health condition that heavily consumes our nation. it's almost impossible not to be considered overweight to the body mass index. i'm not fat, but if i go to the doctor and they look at their BMI chart, i'm considered overweight. not something i feel great about, but it's just a fact.

'cause japs aren't white...

 

It's made by some of the fat freaks around the world. At least we can all agree that it's not a fetish.

In ever really understood it, but then again, I've never really found any. I've only seen one, and that was of Rikku, but I kinda just didn't pay attention because its not my personal preference.

The thing that really creeps me out is images where anime characters breasts count for 25% of their body mass. That is just unnatural an wrong in my opinion, but each to their own.

 

It genuinely scares me that some people actually believe this.
