Aaaah well.......let me start out with the fact that I'm lesbian so if that offends anyone, I'm really sorry. However, I would ask you to please kindly leave this thread and not flame me cause I'm in panic mode right now and that won't really help.

Um, well one of my friends who is a girl has hinted about wanting a relationship with me. She drops little things here and there(ex. joking about us dating/being married ALL the time, saying she dreams about us together, holding my hand wherever we go, etc.) I'm super nervous because I've never had a real relationship before. (My first and last relationship ended with me getting sexually assaulted...loooong story...) I'm worried I'm reading the signals wrong and that I'll just end up getting hurt again. Soooo....any advice would be really appreciated.

Maybe you should just ask her ? You don' t wanna end up suffering, but clearly you already do.
If she' s serious about it then YAY, and if she isn' t then at least you' ll know. Asking her shouldn' t damage your friendship, if that' s what bothers you. If it does ... well then I guess she wasn' t really worth your trust.

Firstly, if you want a relationship, you're going to have to get used to the idea of getting hurt. Consider: All relationships in your life will end, except possibly one. Most relationships cause pain when they end. Therefore when you enter a relationship, you've got a very high chance of being hurt. If you're not willing to take that risk, then you can't pursue a relationship. In the same way, if you pursue a relationship, you are accepting that risk of pain. The only way to avoid it is to avoid relationships entirely.

Most relationships don't end with sexual assault though, so you can probably discount that experience as an oddity.

So, assuming you're willing to take a risk, you need to figure out what to do about approaching her. You're already her friend, so you don't need to 'get to know her' or anything like that. Really, if you want a relationship with her, the only thing to do is come out and ask her directly. You say she's already dropping hints, so waiting around probably won't get you very far. Instead, confront her over it. If she likes you, then the conversation should steer fairly naturally onto such topics.

If she's a good friend, and it turns out she's not into you, she should be able to get over it.

    Congrats!

Looks like you're not as bad at reading signals as you think. :p

Hahaha well no I guess not! Whew! I'm so excited! This is surreal, though. I can't believe she said yes...wow...

Thank you sooooo much for your help! Ever since I came here, you helped me out. Thanks P. You're like the older brother I never had. ^-^

Now you've gone and gotten a life, don't abandon us at KHV. We need your soul (and your RPing-ness).

We didn't honestly do that much. You would have reached the same conclusion on your own; it just would have taken a bit longer.

It's funny, because I got the impression that you were older than me.

Ha, oh I'd never abandon you guys! After all I have to repay you somehow, and my characters won't write themselves!

And actually P, you are a year older than me, if your profile age is correct :).

We should probably take any further discussion over to VMs or to a Family thread, as the problem seems to have been solved, and now we're just cluttering the thread with conversation. :/

Off to the Syncronicity Family! (Or VMs. Or sleep. Your choice.)
