I have a relationship question...

Okay, I apologize in advance for wasting the full minute of your life that you spend reading this.

Now, this 9th grader (I'm in 10th) asked me out a week or two ago. I said "sure, I'll go out with you."... the next morning, he broke up with me, saying that "he's still a kid inside," and he doesn't want to commit to a relationship. I have several questions;

a) Why did he ask if he didn't expect a serious resonse? He didn't ask it in a joking way.

Now (this is a week or two later), he's being all offended when I act completely indifferent to him. "What's going on? Ever since we broke up, it's been like World War Three," to which my response was; "This isn't WW3. This isn't even the War of 1812," and I stalked off.

b) How the hell does he expect me to be all happy and act exactly the same as before when I'm around him when he played me for an utter fool?

Again, apologies for wasting a full minute of your life. I'm done whining now.

Maybe he was serious about it, but......he feels like that, he asked too quickly that made him think two ways.....my opinion......


I guess, you gotta be friend with him, apologize, or he should apologize, doesn't matter who, just as long you're friends

 

Okay,I've never personally been in a relationship,but I think I know...

Question 1: He's a trickster and wanted to see what he could get away with.

Question 2: He figures that breaking up doesn't mean anything. AKA,he's a jerk.

I feel bad for you...I wouldn't know what it's like,but I HATE people like that. I hope that helped...But then again,Sorax could be right. I wouldn't know. *Get's mauled by Cerberus*

Yeah, I know him pretty well (I thought...). He's been a friend of mine since about teh beginning of this school year. If he were joking, wouldn't he have said so directly after I said that I'd go out with him?

Meh... I don't know why I should apologize, but I suppose I could try that.

 

Maybe he thought going steady would ruin your friendship... it's not uncommon for a guy to think that.

9th graders don't know what they want.

Relationships at that age shouldn't really be taken very seriously. It's all just a bunch of messed up feelings. *shrugs*

I'd say ignore him, and get on with your life. Definitely isn't worth the hassle.

 

I wouldn't know a 9th grader's mind, but he was probably just playing you.
My friend in the 8th grade had the same problem..but they both got over it in about 3 or 4 days.

 

coming from another 9th grader i've got one more possable scenario. He wanted to ask you out for what ever reason, but after the fact he got extra nervous and just wanted things back the way things were. so when you didn't treat him the same as before it felt to him like WWIII.
