    I have a question for a music theory savvy person...

    What's the key signature for D flat minor? My brain hurts trying to figure it out. And my music teacher won't tell me.
    The major equivalent would be F flat major, wouldn't it? But that doesn't make any sense. Is there a key signature for F flat major? It's so confusing....

    Ow, my brain. :dead:

    I am here to save you. As it so happens I am a very music saavy person. The key signature for d flat minor is the same as D flat major only 3 semitones up. e.g. A minor as no sharps or flats because it's three semitones down from c major: C, B, Bb, A.

    So the key signature for Db minor is 3 semitones up from Db which is the same as C#. C#, D, D#, E. Therefor the Key signature for Db minor is the same as the one for E major. For future refeance and to avoid confusion, it is usually refered to as C# minor and Db major.

    PM me if you have any more questions.

    So you would be a Futist then? Not a flautist.

    Spanish is my first language so I do not clearly recognize what you mean with that, but, I will tell you that the enharmonic equivalent would be C-sharp minor. In here we do not refer to notes with letters, that is why.

    I could be totally wrong because of my understanding of your question, I will try to translate it and answer you as soon as I can. (:

    EDIT: Oh, it has been answered. My bad, lol.

    Piano's a good instrument to learn early. It teaches you how to read treble clef and bass clef, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

    Yeah;
    Flute is in the same key, so I just susspected that it would be easy.
    I got concept of it in my head,
    I'll just need a piano, and a sharpie. xDD

    Piano is great because It teaches you where all the notes are in relation to each other. It was my first instrument. If you guys would like it, I could record some stuff. I have an exam coming up anyway.
