In a lot of games, the A.I.'s are mostly dumb. Some are 'normal' and others are 'dumb'. I have never really seen a 'smart' A.I.

For example, I hate in games where the difficulty settings don't make the enemies smarter, but just makes their attacks create much more damage. Halo 3 and Gears of War almost had a 'smart' A.I., but they still had the enemies attacks raised considerably.

I want a game with a 'smart' A.I. and when with raising the difficulty, the A.I. gets smarter, not stronger.

Who else ever thinks about this?

Oh, i know exactly what you mean.

CoD4 has some of the best A.I i've ever played against. It's actually intelligent, and gets more so as the difficult progresses. Most of the other war games i've played, however, just give the A.I a health and damage boost. *cough* MOH:Airborne*cough*

Call of Duty 4 does have good A.I. and probably the best thus far. But, it's still not really a smart A.I. , but it's definitely above normal.

I heard Resistance: Fall of Man had intelligent A.I. Though I don't know for myself.

From what I heard Kane and Lynch (correct me if I am wrong) has the worst A.I. ever. They don't even hide. They just stand there and shoot at you.

They're alright, i suppose. Slightly, just slightly, above average. They take cover and attack you in groups and such, but they're still pretty much the same old "i'll just charge cuz i feel like dying today" A.I

No need to apologize, you were right on about the A.I. I think Kane and Lynch's were what you would call 'pre-rendered' or 'pre-programmed' or something like that. That means they didn't think for themselves, they were already programmed what to do. So, basically, you were right. But, a lot of games have that A.I. system.

i hate it too. ESPECIALLY if the enemies have a really dumb AI, takes the fun out of the game. it's really bad when you can figure out which of YOUR actions you can do to make them to what you want them to do. i noticed that for the most part, Namco's games have good enemy AI and ally AI as well.

I especially despise it when game developers hype up their enemy A.I. before their game releases. Then, when it comes out, it has terrible A.I. and they say they will do better in the sequel.

Rumor has it that Force Unleashed will have some pretty advanced AI, but we'll have to see when it comes out.

I hope. I've watched some videos and they use the Euphoria Engine for A.I. reactions. So, maybe. But Lucas Arts has never really pushed any videogame boundaries. =/

Army of Two has a 'normal' A.I. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing special.

Alot of the japanese games have much smarter AI. I just hate it when they release it here and they make the game easier.

I think its impossible to create a 'genius' A.I,since the Player is usually unpredictable and such.I think we should be happy enough that they are smart as they are.

Some games come close, its just that people ***** alot if a game's too hard. But luckily downloadable content opens the door for programmers to really code up the enemies to their fullest.

I'm not really wanting a genius. LOL. I'm just wanting an A.I. who really thinks a little. Some developers come close, but they always end up just boosting the enemies attacks. =/
