Kingdom Hearts I don't know if anyone else noticed this but....

Did you know that if you lose to Cloud in Olympus Coliseum you see an alternate cutscene to if you won?

It's strange but I did.....Weird.​

 

Seeing as cloud was quite tough, and probably beat alot of us first time like he did me, then yeah, I'm sure most of us knew about it.

I actually prefered the scene after you lose.

 

I don't even remember the scene of winning...

Interesting though. I'm not sure if i knew this. Haven't played the game in ages.

 

I was so pissed when I figured that out. It took me a while to get the strategy down to beat him, and even then, it was still hard for me. (I was younger). I should go back and try it again. The same thing kinda happens when you beat Leon, versus when you get defeated by him. Sora gets KO'ed in a different way.

 

He is a real pain in the ass, especially if you don't have guard.

And he was pretty hard. Luckily I had lots of potions.

 

Yeah, different cutscene, but not much different... the point remains the same...
He was hard to beat indeed, but I was strong enough to take him down. =]

 

I was only a bit younger to how I am now, so it wasn't that hard for me, and I was on Normal mode (Yeah, don't blame me, it was my first playthrough on KH1 and I didn't wanted it to be a pain in the ass)

I beat him from time to time on the tournaments xD

Cloud was pretty damn hard actually, I actually didn't think it was possible to beat him in that boss battle, I thought he had infinite health or something.

 

I always thought this of Leon in Traverse Town... Probably because you sometimes don't have Scan by that point in the game, so boss battles are a bit tougher. To this day though I've only ever beaten Leon in Traverse Town once. xD

But I always lose to Cloud. ;___; I did know there was a different cutscene, though.

Like if you lose to Setzer in KH2, things are (obviously) different.

 

Oh Leon was a *****, the first time I fought him I got like 2 hits in. xD
Like you said, since most likely you won't have Scan at that point you won't even know how much HP he has, or if he has unlimited even.

There's also Sabor in KH1 who you can lose against the first time and get another cutscene, though it's pretty much the same.

You mean Seifer, right? Yeah, but there it was more of an easter egg, since you have to suck pretty badly to get beaten by him. xD

 

I've only played KH twice and that was back in 2004/05 so at least till some time ago i didn't know about it. I may be mistaken but i believe there is another topic about it hence why i know about it.

What i find more interesting though is that you can actually beat Leon. I didn't know that until i read the post here. I remember running around Traverse Town to avoid him and climbing at the roof of Gizmo shop but still he would jump after a few "i'm an npc and got stuck in the graphics" moments and chase me.

 

Yes, yeah, you can beat Leon in Traverse Town.

Did anyone else leave Olympus Coliseum early and go back to beat Cloud later? That's what I did on my second playthrough.

And because this thread seems to be about altered scenes, has anyone else left Monstro early and then gone back to find Sora calling Riku fake?

EDIT: Here it is. You also have the first Parasite Cage battle without Riku and he doesn't talk when Geppetto is yelling at him to give back Pinocchio, with is really weird if you ask you me.

 

Ah, that's interesting, I always wondered what would happen if you did Monstro after the events at Hollow Bastion. I figured everything would be the same, just a little inconsistency in the game.

Really though I love the Sora and Riku moments in Monstro, so I'd never do that, haha. (I'm not meaning to imply that in an 'omfg, sexual tension' kind of way)

 

I think there's also one on DI if you beat Riku in the race that first time. Not sure though. Never managed to beat him in it though but I wouldn't be surprised.

 

I don't think so, pretty sure it plays out the same; Riku says that you're naming the ship Highwind, Sora pouts. I have beaten him before, can't remember exactly, but I think the only difference is that you get a Pretty Stone from Kairi.

 

It's still a slightly altered scene, if insignificant.

There's also one for if you beat Deep Jungle before Wonderland. The scene with Maleficent spying on SDG shows Snow White instead of Alice.

 

There are also other alternate scenes in Travers Town. If you go to Merlin before you go up to the bell you get a different scene than if you do it the other way around. KH1 had loads of alternate scenes, which is another reason I love the game.

 

Yeah. I wish they had done that in BBS. It could have been a way to get 100% completion.
