In the last three weeks alone, I've slept in 10 times, and twice I woke up so late, it didn't make any sense to go to school anymore. I've never had this problem before, since before this year, I'd slept in a grand total of three times. And I mean three times in a time span of over twelve years.

My sleeping rhythm hasn't changed much, I go to sleep around the same time still (anywhere between 11 pm to 1 am, depending on when my school starts the next day), my diet's almost the same (I don't eat as much meat at home, and almost never red meat, since my sisters turned vegetarian, but I usually get that during my school lunches). My hobbies have changed a little, but it's gone from theater and aerobics to flamenco and choir. The only reason I can think of is that my school days are longer now (about 8 hours), and I usually have to stay after school doing projects, so I don't get home until 5:30-6:00 pm, as opposed to the 2-4 pm in earlier years.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I could do?

Well... to me, it either sounds like your body is still trying to grow (and that makes people sleepy) or something is not quite right with your body. Don't panic. If you can, go to the doctor and ask for a check-up. But if it's the first, try to get your homework done as fast and neat as possible. Go to bed earlier too. An hour makes a huuuuuge difference. Trust me, I know.

And also, set like three alarms up; Each of them being scattered across the room. By the time they go off and you find them, you'll be awake enough to get ready for the day. Works for me, so it might work for you.

    Good luck.

Huh, do girl's/women's bodies really grow anymore at 19?

Luckily I have a health check-up with the school nurse on Monday, so I can ask her if there's anything she can do to help...

We don't technically get any homework, we just have a truckload of essays and projects that have to be done mainly in groups, which is why I get home later than usual.

I already do that, I've got two to three separate alarms, and I leave the radio on so I'd stay awake... But it's not working anymore.

They can, I'm 22 and a woman and got a random growth spurt last year when I was sure I was pretty much done growing altogether.

I'm going to guess you're in college, which really messed with my sleep cycle. Didn't matter if I didn't have a class until 10:30 or something, I either slept too much and got there late or I just didn't sleep at all and felt even worse. It took a while to adjust, a long while. You might be going through the same thing.

One thing that helped for me with those projects was I broke them down into smaller bits that I could handle, instead of trying to cram what should have taken two weeks to do into a three day period. Remember, sleep isn't just for your body but also for your mind. If you try to cram too much into too little, your mind gets exhausted, and basically blue-screens. This might be why you seem to be missing your alarms and sleeping in. It might be hard to try and break down multiple projects like that, especially if they're all due the same day, but it might be worth a try instead of feeling mentally spent by the end of the day.
