I can't stop watching BrBa. Only 5 episodes left. It's always like this. I watch one or two episodes of BrBa, then out of curiosity watch the opening bit of the next episode, and seven episodes later I've done nothing with my day. I just finished the episode where Spoiler Jesse discovers it was Walt who poisoned Brock and dumps gasoline all over his house. There's no stopping now. I'm just going to power through and see if I can finish it all tonight.
imo the last two episodes were really unsatisfying. Ozymandias was, for all intents and purposes, the finale. But enjoy the ride. Any speculation?
Not really. Everything I speculated has either already come true or passed and not happened. At this point I'm honestly just floored by it all. I don't know what to expect.
Personally, I love how it ended. It is definitely how it should have ended. I will agree that Ozymandias is the best episode. Speaking of which... I met a traveller from an antique land Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand, Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed: And on the pedestal these words appear: "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.[4]
It took me too long to figure out what show you were talking about. I should totes continue my session of season 1 soon.
Just finished the third to last episode so these are the ones I'm about to watch. I think the reason I've heard many say this is because the third to last is just too intense and too sad and everything comes to a head in that episode rather than the last two. Of course I haven't seen the last two yet so I could be wrong. I suggest starting it when you don't have a lot going on. You won't be able to stop watching it, especially once you reach the last two seasons.
i honestly thought every single episode of season 5b was amazing but Ozymandias was out of this world. that episode was some earth shattering stuff.
I mean, composition wise it makes sense that the last two episodes aren't as exciting as Ozymandias. Rising action, climax, falling action, resolution. It just felt as though they were wasting time trying to make the flashback work out, since they didn't have an actual plan for it when they did it. I also didn't like the Nazis that much, thy never became half the villain Gus was (though he of course had 2.5 seasons to be villain).
I agree with a lot of this. I never liked the Nazi's to begin with (what the hell are Nazis doing in New Mexico anyway? I live in NM for Christ's sake and I haven't seen one) and nothing can beat Gus. There can be no one like Gus though. And the flashback thing also did limit them a lot when it came to writing. Granite State, while it couldn't live up to the hole that Ozymandias left, did do a lot emotionally. And I really liked Felina personally. I had expected something big and bombastic, which is what they were hinting at throughout the series; watching it though, I realized t hat it was the way that Breaking Bad was supposed to end. Every season finale had been quiet and meditated; the only one that was high paced was Face Off, which only has one big moment. We all expected another Face Off (or most of us did; I know I did), but I was more satisfied with how it ended.
