    I'm gonna have to learn it sooner or later, but it's definately going to take some time. Every character is it's own word and there are hundreds of them

    But don't get it unless you're really serious.
    Try http://www.jisho.org/ for now, it's free. I just got the dictionary so I don't have to turn on the computer when I'm trying to read.

    Yea, unfortunately it's an essential part of learning to read, so bluh on me. It's quite a pain so far. I'll probably only learn basics and do the rest gradually through immersion.
