OK, so I've recently founf Final Fantasy IX in my storage, and for some reason, it's just not working. I pop it into the PS1 [fat, SCPH-9001] and it goes to the black boot screen, but then crashes. It plays the title screen music, but no video is on the screen. I've gotten into the game by putting in disk 2 and starting a new game from there [which makes me swap out the disks, and then boots]. I'm SOMETIMES able too make it to when Vivi watches that play thing, but it freezes when the custscene starts.

I've triedeverything, from Brasso to Eyeglasses cleaner to WIndex, but to no avail.

    Any help, guys?

I'd suggest that you try it in an emulator or your PS2 to see if it'll work with that. If it doesn't work in either of those, try seeing if you can find a local business that works with computers and other things. It can't cost too much to get a CD repaired.

I think the game is just brick'd. I'll try cleaning it at a game store, but I don't have my hopes up.

Good luck dude, same thing happened with my KHII disk and I ended up buying a new copy. Hopefully you won't have to do the same.
