358/2 Days How do you pronounce Xion?

I always just assumed it was like ZEEon, because that's how the other organization members are (for example: Xemnas=Zemnas, Xigbar=Zigbar, etc).

But in a few dubs I've heard, people pronounce it SHEon.

I've also heard it pronounced Z-eye-on (which is actually how I originally thought it was pronounced, but then I watched the trailer and thought Namine said ZEEon so I changed my mind).

So what do you think??

When I first saw is I thought it was pronounced Zion, like in The Matrix. But then I heard the characters pronounce it Zeeon. I prefer the way I thought it was, just like I prefered Maluxia as Marlucksia, and not Marloosha, but I've grown to accept that.

It's Shion (shee-on). That's the way her name is spelled in japanese, and due to the way the japanese language works, they way it should be pronounced.

They might change it during localization or something though.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't the xi-vowel letter combination make a "sh" sound? Marluxia's the only other member with a name like that and it's pronounced "Mar-loo-sha".

 

In the trailers it's pronounced: "Shee-on".

 

That would make Xigbar be pronounced Shig-bar instead of zig-bar.

 

Good point. That's why I'm still not convinced it's sh... I heard zee in the trailers... maybe my hearing is just off?

I never thought about it like that before! :O I just thought it was pronounced "Xion" with like a "Xscion"-ish sound x'D

But, yeah, since Marluxia, Xemnas and Xiggy are pronounced different, I bet she is too ;_;

According to me, it would sound better pronounced with an X than it would with...Er...All those other weird theories .___.

But oh well :3 It could still be like an X. Just look at Roxas and Axel <3 Their X's sounds normal :3 ...To me...x'3

"zee-on", though "shee-on" doesn't necessarily sound wrong to me.

Mainly because that's how the site spells her name. ^^;

 

Isn't it prononuced Shion? Namine says her name when Xion takes her hood off. I believe Namine prononced it as Shion.
