How did Riku get the Keyblade?

Simple... Riku was supposed to be the Keyblade Master, but Sora got it, so Riku obtained the dark keyblade instead.

 

As mentioned, Riku was the original keyblade bearer, but his Soul Eater turned into the 'Road to Dawn' keyblade afterwards.

 

And Road to Dawn was given to Kairi later, right?

 

No, that was a different keyblade. I have no idea what it was called, but it looked more like a 'Sweet Memories'-spoof. I think that one was more a 'Light' keyblade.

There are the four different keyblades for the four different dimensions, yes?

Sora - Present World Keyblade
Kairi - Light World Keyblade
Riku - In-between World Keyblade
Mickey - Darkness World Keyblade

Here be the breakdown:

Riku was chosen to be the keybearer of the Kingdom Key just before Destiny Islands was attacked by the heartless storm in KH1. But when the darkness arrived, he didn't fight it, but accepted it, and therefore, the keyblade of light was given to the runner-up AKA Sora. Therefore, Riku could weild a keyblade and had power over Kingdom Key and was able to rip it from Sora. Later, when he turned his back on the darkness to live in the light, his Soul Eater sword thing became the Way to Dawn Keyblade and he became an official keybearer again.

 

Ah. No, now come to think of it, Kairi's keyblade was called... um...

And correct me if I'm wrong but isnt Sora the Light one and kairi......none?

 

Yea.. Sora has the light keyblade.. he is a light user anyway..XD
and i don't think Kairi has her own keyblade..

 

Ya, I think Sora has the light keyblade and Riku has the dark one and Kairi just gets one for then. I don't reall know about here. Atleast I think thats how it goes.

Mickey has the dark keyblade? I didn't know that. I thought he had a light keyblade. And that Riku had the dark keyblade. I guess you can learn something new every day. :)

 

Um, Kairi was able to wield A Keyblade, but she doesn't actually OWN the Keyblade. Remember, Riku handed it to her. Not to mention, he gave it to her while he was still in Xehanort's Heartless' form. So, he could've used the power of darkness to form that particular Keyblade for her to use. Then her Keyblade would disappear along with his dark form.

As for who owns what Keyblade...

Sora has the "Realm of Light."
Mickey has the "Realm of Darkness."

Riku didn't technically have a Keyblade until AFTER he transformed into Xehanort's Heartless. The Soul Eater was a weapon, but wasn't technically a Keyblade. If you look at its shape, it looks more like a scimitar than a key. And he never wielded the Way to the Dawn until somewhere between fighting Sora at the Land of Dragons and saving Kairi. If you don't believe me:

1. Riku never used a Keyblade against Roxas. That's when he transformed into Xehanort's Heartless.
2. Check the videos over at the Land of Dragons: Second Visit and when Riku saved Kairi from Saix. I don't know how, but during the fight over at the Land of Dragons, he was clearly wielding Soul Eater. But when he showed up to save Kairi from Saix, he was wielding Way to the Dawn.

Does anyone know what happened during that time gap?

 

Makes Sora kinda feel embarrasing "oh i see so this is why u hate me? you can have it *hands to riku and poofs back to soras hand*" "SORA ARE U MOCKING MEEE!!!"

 

yeap, Mickey has a dark keyblade, but as for Riku.. i think he has a twilight keyblade
