SMT fans always bash Persona? I understand that Persona is the casualized version of SMT games but I never understood why they hate Persona so much, to me its the most fun in the entire series, also it got me into other SMT games so I think they should at least consider that it'll help make the series more popular.

I haven't played any smt games, but I'm interested in playing Persona 3 FES. It's on my to buy list. I'm also considering 4, but I won't be buying that until after I've played 3 to see if I like the mechanics of the games and the gameplay, if I don't like them I wont play 4. If I like them and 3 I'll play 4, If I like them and don't like the style of 3 I'll give 4 a try.
Because the Persona games are usually entry level and the gateway into SMT so it's looked down upon by some members of the fandom. Especially if people are content with just playing Persona and not delving deeper.
