Do you think that some people might watch horror movies that feature torturing people (Saw, Hostel) to get ideas to hurt other people? Do you think that could happen?
Easily. It's probable that a movie copycay killer could arise out of the whole gore movie fad that's been going on lately. But they'd be pretty predictable and very unoriginal. And the thing is is that most psychopaths that are capable of doing such things do them to be noticed and "praised" for their "ingenuity". So it doesn't seem very likely that such a thing could happen despite it being probable.
If the person was demented and delusional, perhaps. But I doubt the average person would be inspired to go on a killing spree because of Saw.
Yeah. Not your average neighbor would do that unless he had a mental illness or something. But they shouldn't even do it because I feel like it's giving people ideas, too, for the crazy ones.
i thot so too. it could POSSIBLY but dont' u think the movie torture methods are a little too much trouble for the average person to set up?
The movie hostel shouldn't even be made >______> It's just a sick sick movie that can make people lose their minds if you ask me. Seriousely, it is just making a horror movie to make a horror movie. It has no real concept. Some horror movies are okay and just to watch but if someone who had a twisted weird mind saw hostel I wonder if it could have happened things similar to that if the person wasn't locked up. Maybe not all that bad, but some of it :/.
actually, i read that a few years ago, the company that made Grand Theft Auto made another game. however, it made ppl crazy and someone killed someone and tortured the victim in the same manner as in the game. as a result, the game was recalled and was discontinued. movies DO affect ppl mentally, that's why ppl cry sometimes or laugh so i guess it could teach ppl to kill as well.
I'm guessing that would be Manhunt right? They did discontinue but i think they brought it back due to high demand. Plus they are making a second one i believe. They i think this type of stuff can affect people. I remember hearing that some killers got ideas for CSI on how to cover their tracks.
Not at all. A person has to be violent already before they get the idea to hurt/kill someone. It's the person, not the movies, etc. It could happen in some form, but it's very unlikely.
People are insane enough as it is. Pointless demonstrations of gore&violence dont make people do anything, but they DO serve as catalysts. What Im trying to say is that they give people ideas...
