HONOR: The Two Sides of Bravery​

The tides of war are slowly coming upon us...

Humanity has always been searching for power. Whether it be by magic, potions, warfare, religious beliefs, or even by a system of monarchy amongst the people, human beings would - and will - never cease to find new forms of endless power.

Even if it meant sacrificing millions of lives in the wake of a war.

A war so great that even the beasts among us engage battle with themselves.

That is exactly what happened.

Humans everywhere prepared for a war from which they knew they might never return. Fathers said goodbye to families for probably the last time, sons kissed their mothers, knowing full well they might never have the chance again. Wives, sisters, and grandmothers wept as their families went forward into a dark abyss that they knew would mean their dooms.

The war began with a bang.

In one instant, an entire city fell victim to the mass bombings and explosions that inevitably came with the tides of war.

That city was Volodne.

Meanwhile, far to the west, in the scalding deserts of Arkad, soldiers from a regiment known as Easy Company, 3rd Ranger Division, fought long and hard, and when all was said and done, they had won.

...Or not.

Just as the celebrations were to begin, a bombing run strafed the entire desert, killing all but two men, one kidnapped by the enemy, the other left to rot in the ruins of Arkad.

The one left to die was a marine, a marine who would later be known as a legend to all the branches of the military.

Corporal Grey James Samuelson, Sniper, St. Binah Marines.

That was the story behind this RP. We actually start later on, when Samuelson has been found and saved by the marines. At this point, he is re-assigned to a new regiment, Dog Company, with First Lieutenant Julius "The Terminator" Bartz, a well known war veteran who earned his nickname from his resilience and strength in combat. Then, Samuelson meets Captain Sarah Dawson, daughter of the General of the Marines, General Harold Dawson.

But before we get into that, here are some ground rules for you to note:

1. No spamming.
2. Swearing is allowed to a certain point.
3. No God Modding
4. Your characters may only be as strong as their rank depicts them.

(Example: Sergeant Major = strong enough to take a grenade without immediately dying, whereas Private First Class = strong enough to take a bullet)

5. No flaming.
6. No racial insults of any kind.
7. SENTENCES MUST BE LONGER THAN THIS: "Rex said maybe"
8. You may only choose a rank UNDER LIEUTENANT GENERAL.
9. Anything not in the context of the story must be placed in (OOC: Message here) format.
10. On that note, try not to abuse the (OOC: Message here) format to have a little conversation on the side while the story is progressing.

11. Blood and gore must be kept at PG-13 level.

NAME: This is where you put your character's name.
AGE: Your character isn't immortal, that's for sure.
GENDER: Unless your back story includes some reason they let a person of undefined gender into the marines, this is necessary.
HEIGHT: I'm not saying it wouldn't be funny to see a knee- height midget running around in military gear. It's just illogical.
EYE COLOR: While not totally necessary, it'd be nice to know for detail's sake.
HAIR COLOR/LENGTH: Again, not necessary, just good for details.
RANK: Your character must be no higher than Lt. Gen., but no lower than Private. This is where your rank goes.
WEAPON: While I would give a selection of weapons I designed in my head, I decided not to. But weapons have to be CURRENT AGE. No MP-44s.
BACK STORY: While it's cool to be mysterious, your characters need SOME background, otherwise it defeats the purpose of having an OC.

Back Story: Grey Samuelson was born and raised in St. Binah, went to school at St. Binah Elementary, took high school in Volodne High, and graduated from St. Binah University with a degree in weaponry and physics. He and his brother, Roy "Tex" Samuelson, both enlisted into the Marines with fake ages when they heard of the coming war, and spent the first years stationed at an outpost in Northern St. Binah before being sent out to Arkad, where Tex was kidnapped and Grey was left for dead. Grey was later found and re-assigned to Dog Company with First Lieutenant Julius "The Terminator" Bartz and Captain Sarah Dawson.

1. I will refer to Samuelson by last name whenever he comes into play, as that is how it's done in the military, unless you're out of combat, or if your squad leader prefers to call you by rank.
