Holy ****, IGN Gaves GTAIV a Perfect 10

Honestly I'm not that surprised. It seemed like it was going to be an amazing game from the screen shots and videos. I'm so hyped for the game now. I hope I'm able to get it on the release day.

 

I cant wait. I'll finally have a game to play on my PS3 thats worth more than a rent, other than the Orange box. And the fact that this got such a high score even furthers my excitement~

 

This game I can't wait for. It doesn't matter which version is better, all gamers deserve to play such a great game like GTA.

 

This is one of the reasons why i want a PS3! It looks simply amazin' in all ways!

Well, it adds to my reasonin' to get a PS3. There are several others games i want to get. GTA IV just tops it off.

 

Man, i hate being fourteen sometimes. I cannot wait for this game, but i still have to convince my mom to let me buy it.

 

I've been thinking of getting this game since the beginning of April, and now I'm fully convinced to buy this game other than just beating the sh*t out of random people.

 

Dammit. I need a PS3, like, now. -_-

Yep, the first game to get it since Ocarina of Time. That is amazing. Screw MGS4 getting GOTY, it's going to GTA4

 

I have mixed feelings about this.

I know GTA4 was going to be a good game but I wasn't sure if it really deserved THAT much praise. =/

 

IGN is probably one of the hardest reviewing sites. Only site that didn't give Assassin's Creed praise, if they love it, it deserves it.

 

Very true. but then again, i didn't like assassins creed as much as most people did... but it is a great game. the other review sites just joined the band wagon

Regardless of the game in question, I don't really like IGN nor trust their credibability, but honestly, I've come to face the fact that no one in the Video Gaming Review/Journalism industry has credibility, our industry is the most saturated palm-greasing one there is it at the moment.

For one, IGN got an "EXCLUSIVE REVIEW" for the game a week ahead of everybody else...what does that mean? That means that Rockstar gave them free stuff to get a positive review of the game out nice and early. Not the mention that the PS3 version of GTAIV is running on servers ran by IGN.

1. Gamespot and GT both loved AC.

2. Already talked to a guy who burned the game(saw it on his achievement list, questioned him) he says it is well worthy. So trusting a blog over an official site that has no evidence of ever lieing to us before is hilarious. Especially when they're the toughest ones out there.

3. Your right, they had to pay some big cash to get that exclusive review, but that doesn't mean they lied about it. Either way, it's GTA4, you really expect less than perfection?

 

Oh, and what's this? Gamespot was the website with the whole embargo because they got paid for reviews.

If you actually read the articles, neither of them were even talking about GTAIV's review score, they were talking about the IGN website as a whole. Way to read.

IGN's review lists off several reasons why the game is flawed, several graphical glitches, monotonous/repeat missions, lock-on issues, buggy pop-ins. Yet, the game still got a 10/10. A game which you can have an entire checklist of problems with the game, yet the game still doesn't get knocked a single point?

 

IGN is biased toward gameplay. That's why Assassin's Creed didn't fair well with them.

IGN praised FFXII and gave it 9.5. That alone explains enough to me just what IGN looks for.

IGN isn't the hardest reviewer site. They have priorities/preferences. All gaming websites do. That's why I read them all.

I am a little surprised to see GTAIV get a *perfect* 10. No splitscreen multiplayer is ouch, in my opinion. Sure, I won't deny that asking for splitscreen for a sandbox game of GTAIV's caliber is a bit much, but I don't think that warrants it a perfect 10.

 

The 2 player in SA sucked and was left unused by most, bringing it back wouldv'e been pointless. This isn't Halo, it's GTA which has been known for ages to be just single player.

I don't praise IGN, but their a hell of a lot more reliable than Gamespot considering the controversy, and GT seems bad with overall scores after watching their AC review. So you see why I say it's actualyl more reliable.
