Kingdom Hearts II Hollow Bastion/Radient Gardens defense devices?

Okay so Hollow Bastion/Radient Garden has their defense devices, well i have never really understood what they are for, does anyone know?

 

For hurting heartless. Its like Sora is on every world always eh?

 

Uhm...to protect the citizen's from heartless and nobodies...what else?

 

They were installed to help keep the Heartless at bay.

 

It is a computer managed system meant to protect the town from unwanted invaders.

 

It doesn't exactly work though, Sora and the gang do that themselves

 

They make it weak in the game because the mainly want you to fight them off, But its supposed to be decently tough though.

 

Well uf it beat them alll in one hit that wouldnt be fun at all...

 

Yup! It's horrible at helping unless ur like a weakling lol (no offense to those who are >.<")

 

i think it is use to protect the town from others attack..
or just helping Sora to fight the enemy..

 

I agree it just gets in the way most of the time

 

In story wise it's like in the quote:

Since you know - you can't just rely on human force alone against creatures like the Heartless. And the people who can fight are slim against armies, and they have to patrol in different areas sometimes, so everything that can help is being used - technology (mixed with magic?) too.

Game wise:

It was probably added to make Hollow Bastion different from the other worlds you visit, this would be the town with technology and security programs. And it adds a little twist during battles, both when the security program is normal and hacked.

 

Exactly as everyone else has said, Radiant Garden's defense system was installed to help fight off the Heartless. Haven't you ever noticed a Heartless get thrown into the air while you're fighting it? It most likely got hit by the system. After that the Heartless is severly weakened, and Sora just finishes it off. But they only protect the city, so if you don't like them around, just go to the Great Maw or something.

It's also significant plot-wise too. Like what cocohints said, when they're hacked, it adds a little twist. You don't want to keep being attacked by it, right? So it makes you want to go into Space Paranoids and put an end to that virus.

 

They are those exploding lil balls tat hurt the heartless.They are quite anoying though...-__-

 

Nobodies and Heartless, but Sephiroth mostly. :D

 

They practically go around and hunt heartlesses and stuff...Though i hated the time when they damage you...(the 3rd visit)

 

Yeah, as others said, it's there to keep the Heartless at bay. The reason they come out after Sora is because he has a -Keyblade- which draws the Heartless to him. Otherwise the system probably works pretty good at making the Heartless not want to come out so much.

So Sora going there helps cut down on the population while the security defense system keeps the Heartless down and out so that people there can have semi-normal lives.

 

Uhm, no.
1- Sephiroth wouldn't even be hurt by them.
2- They were still looking for Sephiroth at the time. He always stayed outside the town.

 

i thought they were pretty annoying =/
