I'm gonna get like bashed and raped from the gaming community for saying this, but I'm getting seriously annoyed about the whole " Three (insert random object)? HALF-LIFE 3 CONFORMED LOLZ" crap. (Let the hate burn here) I mean, Does a game deserve that much talk and hype throughout the internet and gaming communities? I have played HL2 and to be honest, I'm not sure where the urge of wanting to play HL3 comes in. But my god I cannot speak about it ANYWHERE. I get like trashed every time I try to ask people why is it worth waiting for and even threats. Seriously I have not seen such a gaming hype since Starcraft 2. And even then, they weren't going all crazy over it (well most of them). I cannot watch a single youtube video or search the web without a single "HL3 Hype" joke around. For those civilized enough to talk and not yell the crap out of me, can anyone explain why you (or someone you know) find HL3 worth dying to wait for?
The urge to play HL3 stems from the fact the third most important character in the game got killed off to save you and it was all done in a way where you should've seen the tragedy coming as well as G-Man's HUUUUGE role in the game just piqued curiosity. As for the meme, yeah, all memes are annoying. Be glad Duke Nukem Forever got released before memes really took off. As for dying to play the game? Not really. I'm excited to see what Valve does with new consoles with the game, but, at least to me, I'm never particularly waiting for one games going "OOOHH NEED TO PLAY!" anymore. There's no shrine or devotion to the unseen deity. There's experiencing the evolution and progression of the medium and seeing where HL3 will fall into place.
