Is it possible to ignore sub-forums the same way it's possible to ignore other members? Say I want to hide everything but the spam-zone and gaming, would it be possible to add a way to do so? So when I search the forums, they wont show up? Maybe make it a premium feature so new members are encouraged to post in all sections of the site.

Can't you collapse them, or is that only possible on the index?

Exactly. They are collapsable in the forum index, but it won't affect anything but manual browsing.

I know forums is a point on the search function, but I don't know if there its a way to select certain forums by default on a user by user basis. Though you could save a search form with the requested forums selected. Wouldn't be a global thing, but it is closer to what you're looking for.

And that is all I can think of for forum browsing methods. There are subscriptions but those are manual unless you subscribe to every thread you post in, and trying to attach a forum filter onto that seems needlessly complicated (and I'm very sure not possible.
