I need to make a 2 minute trailer for my video editing class by Friday and I was wondering if you guys could point me in the direction of some good trailers. I've never been good at these kinds of things. X_X

this is one of the best trailers i've ever seen. it promotes the ideas rather than the action but still shows bits of action to create a sense of immediate danger.
and has some kickass mucic even though its from a different movie

That's kind of the thing, it's pretty much up to me on how to promote my final project. Any kind of good trailer is welcome.

I assume the reason there' s no action in that X-Men trailer is that the CGI wasn' t ready yet. That cut at 01:25 is so terrible I thought it was fan made at first, not to mention they didn' t even bother making their own score. I like the fact that it' s story-oriented, but it' s glaringly half assed.

From the top of my head I' ll mention Prometheus. The trailer was much better than the movie itself. The story, the shots and the soundtrack all build up together, until it all gets disturbingly stroboscopic. The very definition of a well cut trailer.

If anything, you could always look at Inception for clues. I even used it's music in a fan-made KH trailer last year.
