The beads of sweat on her face. That perfect posture as she stands, mentally lining up her shot. She pushes off with her right foot, taking one, two, three steps and sliding toward the lane on her left foot. All the while, her arm swings back and then forward in a perfect arc. The ball hits the lane, spinning ever so slightly from the subtle flick of her wrist immediately before the release. In the next few moments, her concentration is absolute. Her narrowed eyes are fixed on the ball, which is being guided by the patterns in the grease on the lane. Impact. She grins in satisfaction as pin after pin falls. A perfect strike. As she takes her place behind the screen, her mouth moves to form two words: "Your turn." The night has only begun.
