So I played the demo a few days ago, hell, I played it about 3 times to see the different results that could occur and I generally had a really good time playing it.
I love detective stories, the controls are interesting and engaging, has possibility of multiple endings, and it's one of the few games that looks fantastic on my T.V, the game seemed really appealing.

However, i'm not expecting it to have a long life span, and it can be linear at certain parts, a few play throughs and that's it, so maybe 20 hours for a £40 game? Though I hear DLC is a possibility.

What I wanna know is will it be worth the full price at launch? Or will it be better to wait for the price to drop?

I'm gonna wait for the price to drop myself. Mostly because of how all the games I've been after have come out this week or games I've not got yet went on sale at my favourite place and I've gotta try and not use all my money in one month >>. I didn't really have a good time playing the demo, although I do love my detective stuff so I'll probably get it for story purposes.

It looks like such an interesting game. It really caught my eye until i found out there were scenes of strong sexual content, and i mean strong! That really killed it for me. Aye, guys, i'm an old fashioned prude. If it were possible to skip those scenes then perhaps i would consider buying it but no.

I played the demo and thought it was fantastic, but i shall be giving this one a miss.

I saw an early review for the game yesterday. I heard the story and characters were very clichè and that there were quite a few plot holes. I guess the graphics and the interactivity of the story are about the only good things about it.

Although I got spoiled on who the killer is (Which is the just utter lameness), I'm still getting the game Day 1. It has interested me since I heard about it, and hasn't deceived me yet.
I loved the demo, it was just what I was expecting. Graphics are fantastic, and the way the story is told is just great.

The game by itself is about 10 hours long.
But there are about 20 endings for the game you know, some very different depending on the outcome and how many characters survived, and some closer to each other.
    But 20 endings nonetheless.

It's been praised a lot by reviewers, actually.
Plot holes only exist depending on how you interact with the story.

FYI People: If by your logic that a game is only worth a rent if it's beatable in 1-2 days, then 90% of non-RPGs aren't worth a buy.

I'll be picking it up. Apparently it's not perfect but at least it's doing something different, so it's worth checking out. We need more original titles.

I enjoyed the demo, but walking is a pain in the ass.

Oooooo! So you recommend at launch? : P

The only time I disagree with sex in media is when it is the main focus and ruins the story and atmosphere. And I'm not sure about this, but it is most likely you can choose your character not to have sex, since the game will likely give you the option. Though I know some parts of the story are unmoving, like may be the sex scenes.

To be honest, the controls are there to be intuitive and not to be like the repeated classical controls of camera movements of the right analog stick and the left analog stick controlling movement. They've reworked them to be specific for their game.
It's a thinking game, where you look, what you say all contribute to the future

i was actually planning to buy Star Ocean: the Last Hope International but when i learned about this game, i changed my mind almost immediately. i think i would enjoy this game better than Star Ocean, even if it IS significantly shorter than an RPG. i'm actually going to pre-order it so that i can download the additional pre-quel chapter. this game looks awesome, the demo really wowed me. well.....not the Crime Scene part, i thought that part was actually pretty boring but the first part was interesting. wish the characters could run though.

EDIT: just pre-ordered my copy so i get that pre-quel episode :)

I've completed it and I actually really liked it. Very few games have had me feeling this tense during some scenes, knowing that you ****ing up can end up with permanent character deaths is great, and you never know what scenes can kill the character so it adds a level of tension.

But the first 2 hours are boring as hell. Also the game is really buggy, it's crashed on me a few times, audio cuts out, some frame rate issues, occasional drop in texture detail, trophy glitches and some loading screens taking 5 minutes. 5 MINUTES.

Yeah, I heard the game is quite buggy, despite the release patch. Crashes and whatnot.
It's all worth it though. I still need to get it. <_< I can't believe my local retailer was sold out. Wtf.

i am thoroughly enjoying this game as well. i actually have some sort of emotional attachment to these characters which is unusual for me.

for the buggyness, i thought it was just my PS3 since it also crashed on me on other games, but i guess the game itself is buggy. while it's nice to know it's not my PS3, i am disappointed that the issue is with the game.
i was wondering what that 200 MB download was for.

I have to say, after playing this game for around 8-9 hours nonstop, (it's so gripping I couldn't leave once I got into it) I can officially say it is a must-buy game for any (adult) PS3 owner.

Everything was so alive and gripping in Heavy Rain. I'll admit the start was slow, but vital. It was the prologue to some of the main characters, and a great introducion to the games design and controls, was enormously pretty, but unfortunately boring.

Thankfully after you start taking control of other characters things pick up, and you begin to feel connections to the characters.
One point which began my emotional state through the game was when Ethan loses his son Jason in the crowd, I felt a real rush to find and keep him safe, though I'm not Ethan and (I think :p) i'm not a father, the feelings of caring start to appear.
It's like a film but like a game, it's cinematic and my god I sweated bucket loads in worry and anticipation for some characters alive, I cried a few times, which i've not done much before watching any film, reading any book or playing any old game, the difference between peace and chaos is a thin line in this game.

The controls are so diffrent to the normal layout, simple yet incedibly tough to master, it's made me love QTE. Heavy Rain makes you think twice about what may be the outcome of your own choices. You can be what you want, the hero, the coward, the killer or the victim, it allows you to be as non-linear as you like, whislt still pushing things foward.

There are hints of a sequel throughout the multiple playthroughs, not to mention some important prequel DLC coming, that I hopes makes this a serious success.

You just have to buy this thing at some point, people.

Wow, did I just write a games review? XD

This is a very fun game, already finished it and I'm starting on getting the rest of the trophies. It's a very emotional game and I haven't really felt something like that in much video games. It kind of makes me wonder what lengths I would take to save someone I loved. I doubt I'd be able to get past the finger part, lol.
