So umm, what do you guys do when you go to sleep and only a few minutes later hear a voice yell your name? Because a few nights ago this happened to me. I was trying to go to sleep and only a few minutes later I heard a female's voice yell my name. It wasn't my mom, because it had the voice of someone around the age of 15 or 16 years old. And also, no one was around....am I hearing a ghost?
I don't believe in ghosts, so I would far sooner believe that it was your own mind. Either completely or just distorting an actual sound. Like if someone driving by your house was being loud and said something that sounded like your name, your mind would instinctively think that it was your name.
This happens to me at times when I'm not trying to sleep. I've thought about it, and I've realized that it's just me remembering one of my friends calling my name, or someone calling a name similar to mine. It could just be someone outside calling their dog, and their dog happens to have a name similar sounding to yours.
Happens to me when I watch Independence Day. When the ship is opening over The White House I swear I hear my father calling me.
