Hayden Panettire Seeming Confirmed NOT to be Voicing Kairi in Kingdom Hearts III

    Many have been wondering if Kairi’s original voice actress, Hayden Panettire, who played the character in Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, would return to play the character in the next installment of Kingdom Hearts

    Unfortunately, it looks like she will NOT be returning. She was asked on Twitter this morning if she was involved in the project and stated that she was not asked to return to role.

    With this being announced, it can be assumed that Alyson Stoner (who played Kairi in many of the other games in the franchise, most recently Kingdom Hearts 0.2) will probably be reprising her role.

      I thought that was Hayden Panettiere at the end of 0.2, but I guess that explains why she sounded different. Oh well, it was only a few lines, but I think I could get used to the new voice.

      Kinda upset she won't be voicing Kairi anymore it seems if they choose to go with Alyson. She's been Kairi since the beginning, it doesn't feel right that she won't be voicing her for this installment. :/

      I'm a bit torn on this. On one hand, I believe only Hayden should be voicing Kairi. On the other hand, if Xion's gonna be in the game (and let's face it, she most surely will be), I want Alyson Stoner to be the one voicing her. Yes, I realize that technically, the two are supposed to have the same voice, but still...

      As for those that would've hoped that Hayden would be the one voicing Kairi, it might be possible they haven't recorded her voice yet.
