Have you guys ever had a computer problem when it won't turn on, and the place where the green light should be, it is flashing an amber color.

Dang. I haven it happen to me right now, but usualy I just leave the computer on, so that this doesn't happen. Then, whenever this stuff does happen, I just leave it on, and it turns on by itself. Dangit, I can't get a new computer though. I got to much important stuff stored in my computer... :nomore:

It happens when you leave it on for a while?

If so, it's probably in Stand By or the Power Saving Mode. Try jiggling the mouse of turning the monitor off then on.

Oh no. It happens whenever I turn it off, then try to turn it back on. Before it started acten like this (a day ago), I hadn't turned the computer off for 2 months. The thing is that now I just gonna have to wait for it to boot right back up. I'sa so sad

    That happens to me sometimes.

Try turning on your monitor last.

Cuz dj, whenever the screen goes off, barely any of the power is being used, so I can leave it on and not waste money. Also, I don't actualy turn somthing on first and last, I just press a button, and the computer goes on. But now I probably got to wait for it to turn on, which could take from 1 day to one weak possibly

If you turn it off and it's flashing amber, it's definitely hibernating or on stand-by, etc.

I remember this happening to my old PC when I'd leave it on hibernation for long periods of time: It just wouldn't boot up anymore.

So I just cold-booted it from there to boot it back up again. Is that a problem for you, though?

No. WHen it comes to me, leaving it on hibernation is a good thing (if hibernation is when you just don't touch anything and then screen goes blank till you move your mouse), and it sometimes will do this amber thing whenever the computer gets turned off, and then I try to turn it back on.

You can hibernate your computer manually, or set it to do so automatically after a certain time period.

It's still the same thing, though.

And hibernation is a good thing in some respects, but obviously if your computer isn't boot up from hibernation, there's a problem.

No. Here, this is what happend. There was just a major thunder storm where I was, and I was over at a friends house. My mom was being careful, and turned off the computer (even though I didn't want her to), and she shut it down. Then, when I tried to turn the computer back on, that was when it started to flash amber. I kept it in hibernation to prevent such an occurance, like the one that I gots now
