Personally, I'm very excited about Rowling coming out with a new book. Personally, I think from Goblet of Fire to Deathly Hallows, the novels had very adult themes in them. Although, I wonder if this takes time away from Pottermore, the interactive Harry Potter site she launched in it's beta form last year. The site is still in it's beta form, only open to the few who were able to figure out the riddles back in July. It's been held back for a number of delays, and some people are beginning to think that the site will never officially launch.

What are your thoughts on this KHV?

I am definately interested in what she is planning to write next. I'm glad that she's doing something "adult" in a sense because most of her original fans ARE adults, so it's only a good thing, really. Maybe she'll make another series that might get adapted into films and OMG HARRY POTTER ALL OVER AGAIN haha

I knew that she was writing something new, but this is great news. I love her style, she ahs a great way of enthralling the reader. It's good to see that after almost 5 years I'll be able to read new books by her.

I wonder what kind of book it'll be ... still fantasy in a modern setting, or something grounded in reality, or somehting totally different altogether. It'll be a ery interesting read when it comes out I am sure. I just hope it isn't a flop ;___;.

Also, Tummer, in response to the thing about Pottermore. She isn't really directly involved in the site, she just provides the new details for the backstory and gives the final go-ahead for things, so that's the Pottermore admins' fault that it's till in beta imho.

Ohh,I do wonder what she shall write about. And shall be sure to read whatever she does write.
Although I will mentally be having Harry Potter references in my brain. But still.
And another thing I find myself wondering is if it will be any good.

I think she already wrote it, if I read her quote correctly. It's just a matter of time for it to go through the editing process and Little Brown decides to start releasing it. Of course, it's going to be hard for her to break out the Harry Potter mold. It's kind of like with Radcliffe with The Woman in Black; while it is different, people are going to have a hard time breaking them away from the Potter franchise (although the movie and the acting was very good).

This is pretty exciting. I'd love to see what kind of genre she'll do this time.
Hopefully we can expect a good read from this, I'll be disappointed if it isn't.

Oh, I also have heard about this. Seems interesting. I love the way J.K. Rowling write, already read happy Potter, and I must say, she's awesome. Hope it is a great book. c:

Personally by "For adults" I'm hoping she means it's a whole book that gets really intricate about the dirty nasty sex that Harry and Ron totally had after book seven.

But in actuality, I'm really just curious about what she's going to do next. Her first post-potter book is going to be a very important step for her as an author, so I wonder what direction she'll go in. Another series maybe? I'll be reading it just because it's J.K. freaking Rowling but this is basically going to shape my opinion of whether I really like her as an author or whether I just loved the world she created with Harry Potter.

For adults? Because, those books with themes such as genocide, prejudice, war, murder, immortality (And what one must lose to obtain it), child abuse (At the very least severe mental abuse, implied but never outright stated physical abuse) and various other dark and nasty things was all kids stuff, yeah?

Seriously though, I am looking forward to this.

I have a feeling the book isn't going to be very good. I was thinking about Stephanie Meyer and her other book The Host didn't do so hot, but J.K. Rowling is ten times the writer that suethor is.

I guess I'll have to check it out when it comes out. Wonder what kinda thing she's got going on now.

I've known for a few years that she was writing another book, she said so in something called 'A day in the life of J.K Rowling' and that she was taking her time with it because she didn't want to deal with a deadline, if I remember right.

She said some time ago she had two on the go: a political fairytale for younger people, and a book aimed towards adults. This book is the latter of the two.
