Community Happy 10th anniversary, Kingdom Hearts!

That's right everyone! On today, September 17th, Kingdom Hearts celebrates its 10th anniversary! Back in 2002 the game dropped in Japan, with this idea of mixing Disney and (then) Squaresoft. While that seemed crazy at the time, it's grown into a beloved series with an amazingly close fanbase!

To celebrate, the staff has compiled a video where we discuss the series' past, present, and future!

We would also like to extend a thank you to:

• Disney & Square-Enix, for the lovely series.
• And you, the members, who keep the community alive and thriving.

But there's more than just this!
KH-Vids will be hosting a series of events in celebration of the anniversary over the coming weeks, so keep checking back and get involved! Everyone will be allowed in, regardless of when they registered or how many posts they have! More details on these events will follow.

Additionally, as you'll see in the video, you're welcome send in a video response of you discussing the series--we'll compile all the submissions and feature them on our YouTube! Basically what you need to do is create a video just like the ones you see--you discussing the series. Some questions you may want to consider:

1. Describe your first experience playing a game in the Kingdom Hearts series.
2. What effects has the Kingdom Hearts series had upon your life?
3. Who or what got you interested in the series?
4. In your opinion, what is the most memorable part in the Kingdom Hearts series?

But you're really free to move beyond these!
Please do not edit in music or backgrounds--we'll do all of that later on. To get your video in, you have a number of options:

1. Send a message to Misty via the KH-Vids forums ( http://www.kh-vids.net/conversations/add?to=Misty )
2. Add it as a video response to this video.
3. Email contact[at]kh-vids[dot]net

In whatever message you choose, please include:

1. Your username (on KH-Vids, YouTube, or both)
2. A link to your KH-Vids profile or YouTube channel
3. A download link to the video ( Mediafire works well! )
4. Anything else you feel is relevant

Please aim to keep the videos three to five minutes. If you go a bit beyond we understand, but we do reserve the right to cut your video a little if you do! The videos are due by November 1st, 2012.

Happy birthday Kingdom Hearts! I love this series so much and I know my life would be so different if I never found the series because then I wouldn't have all you crazy KHVidians that I love so much~

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KINGDOM HEARTS. It's sad that it's been around for 10 years but I've only known about it for 2. Either way it greatly affected those 2 years of my life and I love it. :D

Wow. Can you really believe it's been 10 years already? Which also makes me feel really old. The point is, when I first played KH, I was too young to understand the true deepness of the storyline, and the morals being implicated throughout. About 4 years later, I replayed it, and fell in love with it once again. And look where I am now *____* I really hope that Nomura listens to his millions of fans worldwide and starts working on KHIII. I know I'm jumping on the bandwagon here, but I really want to see it happen.

I'm really glad I got into the series a year or two ago! It's been really fun playing the games and making AMV's with the games! I'm glad KH came into being about 10 years ago!

I mean, not that it doesn't remain true of my current gaming habits but.. ;~;

 

Oh man, I remember ten years ago wanting this game reeeeeally badly whenever the commercial came on...

And then not getting it until Christmas. :c

But alas, the first game series that I keep close to my heart (all the puns intended!) and the first game to truly introduce me into the world of video gaming. Thanks, Kingdom Hearts.
