I happened to come across this as I was out checking trailers for movies I might want to watch in the future. This film, is the tale of Hansel and Gretel. For those of you who don't know what the story was about, it was a tale of two siblings getting lost in the forest, before being lured into the gingerbread house by a witch. This witch catches both children, planning on eating them, though the plan is foiled when she's the one getting thrown into the fires instead of the kids.

But, this comes with a twist.

Because they killed said witches, they have gained this... Taste, for witch blood.
Eventually, this leads into the both of them setting up a new family business. Witch Hunters!

Due to their valuable services, eventually they get called to a town called Augsburg, to deal with a new threat that has emerged. Kids are being stolen away at the dead of night. Witches are involved... but, there's something else too.

So, what do you think? Worth watching?

It seems interesting for the most part. And the girl who plays Gretel seems real pretty. The only thing is that it looks like the usual supernatural-type action movie. Which isn't too bad, but eh.

Can be goodish... has a Supernatural vibe, but these movies that are re-talling the stories are usually just ok.

I'm a little confused by this recent trend in re-imagining fairy tales into films. I certainly like the concept, but I don't think anyone has quite got it right yet. This movie, for example--the fairy tale aspect to it (the original Hansel & Gretel story) seems like a bit of an excuse to have a witch hunting movie. From the trailer I don't get the feeling there's too much of a story here other than "killing witches obligatory romance brother and sister dynamic explored." Which, I guess isn't bad, but I'd really just like to see one of these films go the extra mile.
