Master Chief. Check. Cortana not crazy yet. Check. Explosions. Check. Vagueness of what we're facing. Check. Looks genuine enough to me. It's gonna be a good 2012/13 when that pops up on our shelves. Here's hoping they don't just recycle the old plotline.
I saw the trailer when I was watching some of the E3 streams with my boyfriend today. I'm not usually a fan of Halo games but it looked pretty epic.
It'll probably use either the Reach engine or an entirely new one, though I'm not sure which. I think the trailer also announced the reurn of Jetpacks to the series! Wonder how long the Chiefs been in cryosleep? A lot could of happened in that time, wonder what the story will do and the obviously new aliens we'll encounter.
Yeah, for all we know this could be hundreds of years later, especially since everyone thinks he's dead. I'm never sure how to feel about jetpacks. Yes they're awesome, but I can never use them right...then again I can't use any of the armour effects right.
Chief vs the Death Star. Ha, I like that. This could go either way for me. After Reach, they summed up the series nicely, but let's see what else Bungie can bring to the table. No big expectations over here, though.
Jetpacks are like a unique little gameplay mechanic, fun but short lived, they'll probably try to improve it's play style in some way. This isn't Bungie anymore designing the Halo series, it's 343 Industries that'll be making Halo 4 after Bungie became independent of Microsoft. So, it's hard to know what to expect, but the massive pressure they have on them means they'll probably do a great job of it, because i'm sure they don't want to be known as the developers that ****ed up the Halo series for millions of fans. And since they've been with the series for a number of years it's not like the series is new to them so i'm sure they'll be able to get everything done the way they believe it sohuld be.
Looks like it'll be great. Definitely a great way to kick off the 360 for me since I'll probably be getting one around the time this comes out. The only thing that's missing is an ARG like Halo 2 and 3 had. I wonder what they'll do.
Halo 4 coming out this tuesday? who's going to be playing/picking it up? I know I am, I'm currently watching the IGN live stream of it. IT looks soooo much fun.
After watching this for like...3 minutes, I can say I'm genuinely excited for it now, which I haven't said about a Halo game since 3 I believe. The gameplay looks so fun and hectic. I'll certainly be picking it up (but probably not on release day because no munniez).
Well its out now. I lack the 360 to play bu still love the franchise... How is it you people that got it at midnight.
For me, it's one of the only first person shooter game series that I actually enjoy the story of, along with Half-Life. I love the futuristic setting and the idea of Spartans being cybernetically-enhanced supersoldiers with a sketchy beginning (kidnapped as a child if you didn't know) in a war against zealot aliens, and then throwing in the ultimate weapons of destruction, the Halos, and the parasitic Flood who eat EVERYTHING. And then the multiplayer is just...fun, getting your mates together and killing every single one of them. Having played and beaten the campaign, I really liked this one more than Halo 3 and 2, and even Reach. Reminds me a lot of the first Halo game (my favorite one), with the sense of mystery fighting against an enemy we haven't seen before in a setting we're not familiar with. Didact is a pretty cool villain too, though I was disappointed we didn't see him as much as I'd have liked.
