I'm thinking of getting myself a MMORPG in the next few weeks but there is a huge selection to choose from (most of which aren't great). I've wanted to try Guild wars for some time now and I'm wondering if any members here have played it and whether or they think it's worth purchasing (I know there's no monthly subscription). I'll also take suggestions. Cheers!
Preferably the first two, though, if the game was worth a monthly subscription then maybe. I know WoW is good but I'm afraid I'll get addicted. xD I'm looking for something with more than simple levelling. I've heard a game called Aion is good, and I like the idea of being to fly.
I would recommend DC Universe Online, but after a few months. Since it's just out, it's kind of boring. You can reach the level cap easily and it still has some bugs. Maybe this'll help you http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/gameId/0
Apparenlty Rift is meant to be good. It's pretty much the same as WoW, but with a lot more to it, such as total realm boss fights. It's still in Beta, but you should look into it. Also, WoW, just because it's the most played MMORPG.
If you wanna fly FLYFF is an ok game. Fantasy Earth Zero would be great but it's closing next month :/
It may sound cheesy, but I still recommend LotRO. Even if you're not a big fan of LotR, it's still a great fantasy MMORPG. The only thing that makes it "LotR" Online is that it's set in the world of Tolkien, and you'll meet characters from the books. Nothing movie related, it has loads of missions, hobbies, proffesions and even an housing option. Also, it's Free To Play, and the scenery and graphics are absolutely gorgious. But if you dislike LotR or fantasy MMORPG's in general, I suggest you search for a different game.
