Wikipedia article Fansite Anybody heard of this? It gets so little love, but it's so awesome. It's a 2D SRPG with date-sim elements. There's no grid; movement is totally free on the battlefield. Gameplay makes great use of different strategic elements, as opposed to some RPGs where you have different options but only one or two of them work. Story progression is really choice-heavy. Multiple story paths that actually lead to different scenarios/endings instead of just being "Follow this path, be good or bad," and lots of interesting side quests to boot. The NPCs are dynamic and feel more like people than plot devices. Dedicated English voice cast with lots of talent, if you can get past the nauseating formality with which they speak. And they have some friggin' hilarious outtakes. Oh, and it's illustrated by Urushihara Satoshi. (If you didn't know, Urushihara's an art messiah.) To newcomers, I'd recommend Growlanser Generations (II and III in one package; not to be confused with the Japanese Growlanser V: Generations) and the PSP port of the first one. I've played II and III, and they're both phenomenal; I can only assume I is too. The rest I can't speak for, as I haven't played them yet.
