I don't know if there's a thread for this already, but what do you think is the greatest gaming system of all time? Not today, like Ps3 compared to Super Nintendo NOW, but what was the best system at it's own time. I didn't put PC cause it's not a system devoted to gaming.

    Sorry I forgot N64.

The PS3 is my favorite. That and the XBox 360. My sis bought the XBox and I bought the PS. We trade every week or so.

The PS2 seemed to be the most successful out of them all and it kind of did open up a new way of gaming for myself and many others I know so my vote lies with that and the PS3 coming straight afterwards.

Of all time? I'd say...Nintendo 64 x3 I just think it set a lot up, along with the original Playstation. The best thing out there to me right now is the Ps3 though.

I'm unable to answer this question. Each system has their pros and cons, but it is even more difficult to do so when there are consoles from every generation of gaming. Games have evolved in such a way, that it is harder to decide because they are so vastly different on many, if not all, levels.

PS2. Golden age of gaming, in my opinion. It had EVERYTHING.

The Playstation 2 was the most dominant system of all time. The gamecube and xbox were nice, but the PS2 just blew them all away with all it's exclusives. The Super Nintendo is a close second, but the PS2 had just plain better games. We had Jak, Ratchet, God of War, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 4, Sly, Final Fantasy, KH, Xenosaga, Okami, and just too much more. As well as the great non-exclusives like Splinter Cell, Black, Prince of Persia, do I need to list them?

PS2 was the best one to me with the most games I enjoyed and also it served well as a DVD player. I like the PS3 a lot too and feel it has the same potential. PS2 was slow to climb but once it took hold it was unstoppable and still sells well.

I'm going to start off by saying that non of the next gen systems should have been picked. They're awesome, but, 1) they're new and 2) the game libraries are wayyyyyy too young/(small) for any comparisions.

I'm going to say the ps2 on this one. LOOK AT IT. It was amazing back in its hey day, the xbox and gamecube couldnt even hold a candle next to it. Plus its library is like...
really really big. And its still getting bigger!

Am I the only one who thinks the genesis kicked ass? It had such awsome games.
Then when the first ps came out it also pretty much dominated. Both these consoles are good.

Don't get me wrong I love the ps2, but nothing beats the classics.
