I don't know when they first used that image for the creation of the universe but it was in a Green Lantern storyline last year. It made me happy to see it

 

The first image is from Justice League Unlimited

 

is it even in the same continuity or is it just a wink to the previous continuity

 

There's nothing in Green Lantern that contradicts Justice League, so I'm going to assume it takes place in the same continuity. They even mention John Stewart becoming the new green Lantern of Earth at one point

 

Oh, I know that. I meant that I don't know if the idea to show the Creation by that hand wa first used in JLU or used before that.
Also, yeah there's nothing really contradicting between the two shows, but nothing really linking them either. Now that I think about it, though, the Manhunters contradict the two versions.
