I feel like an idiot. How do I install the mods, they keep talking about a "Fallout 3" folder and then others talk about a "data" folder and I'm getting a headache ._.
Fallout 3 should be in your steam folder. C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/common/fallout 3 goty if you have 64-bit, which I assume you do. If not, it's just Program Files. also, assuming it's on the C drive
So...do I extract all the contents of those folders in specific places? Do I just keep them in the folders?
I'm pretty sure the Fallout 3 Mod Manager can install mods easily, along with remove them easily (which usually isn't very easy when you do it manually). Besides the manager, they should tell you where to drag and drop the files. If it says put it in the Data folder, just drag all the contents into it. I would just use the manager, though.
K, so, when I'm extracting a folder like "mesh" or "texture" or whatever, and I already have one, will it replace that folder, or will it add the new stuff to it?
It'll overwrite the folder if there is already one there, but it will just add the new files--not delete the old ones. Unless the folder also has the same file, then you'll probably need to overwrite the old file with the modded one.
