I discovered this just a few days ago. Too bad I've only seen it work in Chrome.

 

So is there supposed to be more than just the glowing words, or is that all there's supposed to be?

 

That's pretty much it, just that the individual letters and words don't light up or go dark at the same time.

Reminds me of a story I once wrote titled Night Drive that included a scene about nighttime Los Angeles city lights returning to buildings after a power outage. The story likes to romanticize how the city glows. To quote from that story:
