Apparently, my original thread got stuck in the old server. I shoulda thought of that.

Mahatma Gandhi: Great man. Preached for equality and peace and achieved his goals through speech and preached against violence. He did not belong to one religion.

Adolf Hitler: Killed 12 million people as a scapegoat for Germany's troubles. Christian, but didn't think fondly of the church.

Who deserves Heaven, if it exists?

    Hitler killed 12 million jews.
also every person has a choice to go to heaven, or hell.
It doesn;t matter who you are or what you haved done if you believe in the Lord you will go to heaven.

So you just said that Gandhi should go to hell for not believing in your god.
I think you should go to hell for that.

If there is a heaven and hell, people should be judged by their actions in life. Not how much they believe in a god.

*OLD POST BEFORE FORUM GOT DATA-ROLLED*
Now as for the new re-post....
No question there, Gandhi should be in the nice place should the nice place exist. A life of charity should be justly rewarded regardless of the "big invislbe man" they believed in.

I do not believe in a religion that tells you to just believe in something so no matter how notorious you are, as long as you believe, you are going to a beautiful place while those who shun the religion will burn for all eternity.

First off, it's a horribly arrogant thing that a deity would say to someone. If we had this concept in law that said 'because you do not believe in the law system as we word it, you are not welcome here', even though you abide by similar ethics and had not disobeyed the rules for a region other than that, we'd all protest how stupid that was. We'd think that we have to remember laws word for word and put them in our hearts even if we aren't bad people, and if you can't recite something, we are ousted out and sent packing. This is stupid.

Secondly, if someone commits murderous acts and someone else is a benevolent person, you stop the one doing the crimes that are destructive, no? Who cares what the person believes in? They are KILLING others! That needs to be dealt with to ensure others can survive. Whatever happens in the after life, we should be focusing more on what happens IN the lives we live and focusing on how to ensure we and our future progeny can exist instead of being told to believe in something later, so we should be good now. Obviously there are MANY people that are not Christian that are very decent people and it is because they choose to:
    1. take responsibility for what they do wrong.
    2. make amends and repair things themselves and if they can't, they get some help.
    3. they CARE about life and living NOW and focus on reality.
    4. they care to make a difference and assist others out of their own good will, not because of thinking about what horrible things will happen if they do not.

To me, these are the best people there are in the world. The ones who act on a desire to help others and live in a positive way with life and nature are the ones who are special and merit the most respect. Anyone that does things because they worry about going to some stupid place in the after life is NOT doing things for pure reasons. This applies to them also pushing their Bible down other people's throats in attempts to save others too. Some of us just do not care because there are no definite answers of what comes next. I'm always going to be living for the day, for the moment, and planning for the future of those on the planet.

I may be Catholic but I don't care if somebodies atheist or from another religion. Your actions depect your placement. For all I know, there isn't a God and I'm wasting my f'in time, but I choose to believe, and if you choose not, it doesn't matter. It's who you are.

That was very well spoken and admirable. In the end, who knows what happens after. It's who you are now that is important.

Who ever thinks that is very narrow minded, I don't believe in god nor do I believe I'll go to heaven or hell when I die. Anyone who still thinks I'll be going to Hell from what I have said, then please learn to accept other peoples views.

I'm Catholic. God will forgive your sins no matter what. You shouldn't worry about this kind of stuff. And don't make fun of me or my religion; I respect it, and it's not so nice when people slap it like I've seen before.

Who's making fun of your religion? I haven't seen anyone make of anyone here. Though there are a few cynical atheists *coughcincough* I don't think you have to worry much.

But, keep in my mind: disagreeing and explaining why =/= disrespecting your religion. This is a debate.

Wow this is an intense thread:sleepy:. But, I personally think and KNOW that God loves everyone no matter what, and the way to heaven is not just by actions, but also in believing that Jesus is our lord an saviour and that he died on the cross 4 our sins so that anyone who accepts Jesus into he/she's heart will spend an eternity in heaven with God...but whoever dosen't will be spend an eternity in hell with Satan and all his demons...beleive it or not.:D

    ... Not.

    Read the posts.

    This is my opening post:
Why should I burn with Hitler for wanting proof of an invisible man in the sky?

I've already said it Mirai. Nobody's going to burn in hell here.

Morals are the number one key. Somebody created us, most likely knowing we'd not believe. That's why morals are the key, not some believing crap. I choose to believe and that should be fine by all, but even if you don't I don't care. But if you go around selling drugs, murder innocent people, rape etc etc, you deserve hell.

<_< Atheist to the extreme! You're the worst 'round here. XDDD

I've said it before and I'll say it again - it is just simply not our right to question God. Claypot lol. The way I roll is simply by believing in God and his Kingdom and yet, at my own free will, do what I believe is right and good whenever I can - both for us as humans and for my God.

I tried thinking of a metaphorical way of depicting the situation but I fail majorly like that.

So I'mma be brief with my one liner: it's more about disrespecting God. If let's say, someone like you who is quite obviously against him, dies and is facing Judgement, why should God let you enter His Kingdom, the very one that you insulted? The Kingdom of the Man you believed not of? I suppose it's just about having a lack of respect for God and His Kingdom that He thinks you're undeserving of entering.

But then again, I think good deeds are put into consideration - I don't think it's solely based on belief. That's all I hope for, honestly.

And btw, believing in God is more a spiritual thing, just fyi. :D

exactly....and u see, this is a classic case of ....just because we dont believe in YOUR god, doesnt mean we should go to hell, but according to catholicism, christianity, judaism, so on and so forth, they all say "whoever doesnt believe in our god is going to hell,"

but, wouldnt that mean everyone is going to hell????

because the catholics dont believe in anyone elses god, and everyone else, doesnt believe in anyone elses god, so.............yeah...........wouldnt everyone be going to hell? no matter how much they believe....

Wonderfully said. Yes, it's not just entirely belief. Other things are put into consideration, as someone already said, your actions are judged but also forgiven.

I know, sorry bout that. >< Got a little off track there, right? Yeah.

    Sorry bout before though guys.
